So when Ming started talking about home-made spicy chocolate, I got the urge to start THE EXPERIMENTS!
Also, if you guys want to share your experiments/recipes, please do!
Experiment #1: Wasabi Chocolate
Result: disappointing, but not a total failure.
I didn't really do any measurements, but I used about one third as much baker's chocolate as I did semi-sweet morsels. I picked up some Wasabi powder from the store, thinking that the powder would probably be best for dissolving and mixing in. But I tried some of the powder before mixing it with the chocolate, and is wasn't spicy. So I kept mixing it in and sampling until I had used half a can of the stuff, but it never got spicy, it just tasted like wasabi. But after letting the chocolate cool and all that, I will say that wasabi chocolate is actually pretty good! Especially if you like dark chocolate. But it wasn't spicy at all, so that was disappointing.
Next time, I'm going to try some wasabi from a tube. X)! |

Scrumm, you should start with something more basic. I suggest a semi-sweet chocolate, mixing in some cayenne powder. Also, if you want to add a bit more flavor, try adding some cinnamon...I find it goes really well with the heat. |

Hmm, You could take some wasabi paste, mix it with some cocoa, and then dip them in chocolate....but that's just a thought... |

xD I made some chocolate-toffee bars today and was enlightened-- apparently, regular skim milk isn't a good substitute for condensed milk. ^_-
They still taste okay, though. I poured out a lot of the milk. They just don't look very pretty. xD
Also, my mom had some chocolate cupcake mix and I threw in some chocolate chips and put some toffee on top of the chocolate frosting she'd gotten. Haven't tried that yet, but I'm sure they taste just fine. |

My mom's gotten pretty good with doing filled cupcakes...crushed peppermint candy mixed w/ icing and stuck in the middle of a cupcake...and coffee-flavored ones too. |
