First of all I'm gonna say that 1: I'm coming in here in mid conversation, obviously and 2: The issue is WAY TOO complicated to simply say I'm for war or against war. It's just... too complicated.

Cobbi: I've said this before, but I'm gonna say it again. The Iraqi people want us to attack Saddom. I've read stuff written by some Iraqis, so I know what I'm talking about. There was even a report that there was a radio broadcast after the attack. It said something like "This is the day we have been waiting for. Finally we will be free." Does it make sense at all to protest against this when the Iraqi people are supporting it?

The Iraqui people don't understand that they too, will probably be killed. As much as Bush says he will not attack civillians, it cannot be helped. Saddam sets up his bases, purposely, in the middle of residential areas.

And yes, I'm reasonably scared.

They know the dangers. They've had to live with Saddom ruling them for years. I doubt this is the least bit scary to them.

Gryph's got a point. For some reason I can't help but think that a lot of people are protesting the war just to be protesting, ya know? The last two generations have had very little to protest about, their lives being pretty cushy and all, and I'm sure they've felt left out with all their parents talking about how they got arrested for protesting war in their day, and so at the first sign that they can do the same they lept to it, just wanting a piece of the action. Now, this isn't to say that I think Bush is going in there for the right reasons, but Sadam is a bad guy, no doubt about it, and taking him out of power is going to help those people. For them it's a question of living in fear under a government that will never go away, or suffer a war for a year or two so that they can be free. Sure, Bush may be going in there for all the wrong reasons, but it'll do some good if we succeed.
Besides, haven't you all heard about Sadam's forces using missles and arms that he said he destroyed? For better or worse Bush was right about that.
