Xlink is a program you can download. Then you get a WiFi Max and you can use the two in conjunction to play ad hoc psp and ds games online. |
I'm wioth Pups on this one. If I HAD to sit at my desk to play it on my wireless handheld system, say, instead of my super comfy recliner or couch, or Osiris' favorite arcade room [read: the bathroom] I may as well play it on the computer. |

Right but my point was that the WiFi Max works almost as well as a wireless router as far as the signal goes. There's not a wire plugged into the machine or anything so you could still be chilling on the recliner and play it.
The difference is if you wanted to actually chat with any of the people you were playing with... then you would need to be by your PC. |

I agree with Shino, if you're gonna be chatting with the people you're playing with, you'll be sat at your PC anyhow, surely thats better than going back to the old software keyboard ala PSO if you didn't have a Dreamcast keyboard?
Also, I need a WiFi dongle before I even consider this.
Also also, I'm agreeing with Shino because its a long long time since I have done! |

Well, it does have a built-in mic.
Mainly I just want to see the DS try a multiplayer game that isn't racing or Metroid. |

That is true Gryphy! But as we all know the PSP has better graphics and much more suited to handle PSPortable than the DS. WIth that said try not to make this a war between PSP and DS guys. Both are very good systems in my eyes and both have they're ups and downs. Now if you guys don't behave ya'll will face my Falcon Punch! YEA! |

The signal isn't all that, which is what my point is. You've been in our apartment. I can't make it from my room in the corner where my desktop is, to the living room without the signal breaking. Believe me, I tried to risk a kitchen run and promptly lost my signal in the middle of a Monster Hunter battle. Not as fun as it could be if I could just chill in the living room near the router.
Now I realize my situation isn't really the same for most people. I don't know what everyone else's setup is like, but I know at least for a fact my wifi max's signal can't make it as far as the living room, much less the kitchen.
I just want integrated online play, I don't want to -have- to rely on third party programs, firmware, and third party hardware. |

So to use X-Link Kai I'd need a WiFi dongle? My Wireless router would be no good then? I can browse the net on my PSP anywhere in the house, I've made it as far as the end of the street before dropping my internet connection before too, if I need a Wifi dongle then I'm a little dissapointed that I can't just connect via my currently running wireless connection instead. |
