Name that kitty! LoL

We've added a new kitty to our family...a little girl that we rescued from the shelter. I had wanted a girl as our final cat to tip the scales a bit since our other 2 are boys so after lots of careful consideration and looking we finally found a sweetie.

We just don't know what to name her...any suggestions as to "who" she looks like are welcome. The previous owner gave her and her sister up due to a new baby being allergic. They called her "Dior" but it just doesn't seem to suite her, or us.

Or maybe Princess Leia, or Matsumoto, ooOooOoor Zelda!

Which is funny cuz I almost bought a kitty once who's name was Zelda. Then Pink and I had planned to get a kitty from the shelter, but due to some circumstances, that's not happening. Sad

Eclipse! Maybe it's because her coloration looks like a solar eclipse.

Oh yeah. I'm right on top of things today.

Or any other language variation of Eclipse like:
Eclissi - Italian
Nisshoku - Japanese (Solar Eclipse)
ékleipsis - Greek

As I suggest with most cats, name them after royalty. They already look down on your as the peons that serve them, might as well give them the name for it.

I'm thinking Isabella for this one.

We named our babies after geeky things. My cat's name is Jadzia, my sister's is Jar Jar Binks, and Chris and I named our babies Sisko and Nerys. 3/4 of those are Star Trek names. ^_-

Name her Eilonwy. She's the princess in The Prydain Chronicles (The Black Cauldron series by Lloyd Alexander, if that helps). She's a fun chicka. Opinionated, blunt, and not about to be left behind. She's one of those pig-headed kickass sort've princesses. <3

Ooor, you could name her Llyan-- she's the giant-sized (literally, got on the bad side of a growth potion because of a greedy little wizard) mountain cat in the same series. ^_^I've always liked those names, but haven't had a chance to use them yet.

Or, you could go with something easier/more well known and use Lyra from The Golden Compass, or Eowyn from LotR. Or, you can look up Elven names, as those are always pretty. I've always loved Eilanu, which means Rainbow in...er...Quenya, I believe.

I think we're giving the name "Marcie" a try...at least for now.

Marcie = Girl from Peanuts comic that calls Peppermint Patty "Sir" all the time.

She can stand her ground, but I can still see her taking orders from Al's cat Leto...he's the oldest of the 3 kitties at age 6. Moochie is about 2.5 years while the new kitty runs somewhere in the age range of 2ish.
