I'd like to point out a problem with that phrase: Since there is no crab in the crab cake, then it isn't a crabless crab cake.
It is a cake.

Otherwise, I bet it tastes amazing. I like going veggie on several days of the week, especially since lent has come around and that means no meat on fridays, so I improvise and go veggie a bit more than usual. |

Not really. If you buy TVP, rice, and wheat gluten (to make your own seitan) in bulk, not only is it affordable but it's cheaper than eating meat buying fresh veggies all the time can get expensive, but when the farmers market starts back up again (they're done for the winter, here) then it will also be cheap.
And it's only more time consuming compared to meat if you aren't doing anything fancy with the meat.
side note--I only realized recently that you're veggie! yayness. You'll have to get Terin to show you Broskulli ;D |
I'm basing most of my opinion here on what I've seen in Harry's Farmer's Market (which RULES!!). The stuff there looks sssooo good but shopping there like we would a normal trip is out of the question right now.
I'm a huge rice fan so any rice dish is a go for me. And I've recently discovered BEAN CURD!!! Mmmmmm. I doesn't sound appealing but it tastes great and with a little soy stirred in it flippin' rocks. It achieves it's optimal tastiness (IMO) when part of a veggie stir fry. Righteous!
TVP? Is that the Taliban Versus Predator? Please explain. |

Here's yet another trip into the cookbook from Imus Ranch.
Meatless "Meat" loaf. (I know Tobs, should just be loaf)
Yet another meal of WIN from the cookbook. (just the meatloaf was from the book - the other two are items I whipped up). We did add an ingredient to the loaf though and that was a couple of dashes of vegan worchestire sauce. YUM!
I had planned some basmati rice with chickpeas and tomatoes but had no fire roasted t'maters to make it so I subbed in the broccoli I was going to use the night before in the broccoli soup. Steamed it a bit then sauteed some garlic and red onions in olive oil and toss the broccoli in for a quick stir. Accompanying the whole thing is rainbow cous cous that was made with vegetable broth and some fresh apples thrown in the boil stage.
I'm gonna be keeping track of these recipes here and on my blog which I still need to update with hiking trips.  |

(That's why we call it TVP ;D )
and it's not the same as tofu XD It has a different purpose in cooking. It's great in chili. |
