Is anyone going to go see this? I haven't decided yet if I want to spend the money to see it.

Also, movies like this sorta make me upset. I'm fully expecting there to be a surge of idiots playing casino Blackjack after seeing this, followed by an impending surge of idiots getting kicked out of casinos for getting caught counting cards because this movie will invariably make it look like it's so easy to do.

Other movies that made people "experts" in something...

Rounders - I feel this is what initially sparked, or at least contributed to sparking, the huge comeback and trend of poker in the United States, and maybe even the world. It's a shame because this is a damn good movie.

Sideways - Everyone was instantly a wine connoisseur after seeing this movie. I haven't seen this, but I hear this is a pretty good movie too.

I don't know if I want to see it. But I assure you, there are going to be a lot more blackjack players, and a lot more blacklisting, or abusing the lack of experience in card counting.

And yes, sideways was a very good movie. IT just made everyone a friggen wine "expert."

Like I said earlier, I haven't decided yet if I want to spend the money, although right now I'm leaning towards no. This movie looks like it's going to be the blackjack equivalent of Rounders, but again like I said earlier, Rounders is an awesome movie. So this has it's work cut out for it. I don't care that it's based on a true story.

It's basically the same sort of plot that was in Rounders, albeit this is based on a true story. Basically, some guy is going to school and can't afford to pay for it, so he takes up professional gambling to make money.
