While he's at it killing franchises, we should get him to kill McDonald's too.

Personally I can just imagine all the merchandising he is going to ruin with this! Really crappy Ghost in the Shell action figures and such.

Why does damn near everything Spielburg touches turn to ashes?

That's a Shindlers list joke isn't it?

The fact that it didn't have any transformers in it sorta made it a bad movie for me.

eh...the man is still considered one of the greatest directors on the face of the earth. It's gonna sell big, and you're all going to see it because you want to.

Now my questions is this: is it going to be animated, or Realtime? If its animated, I'd be happier, but if they go ahead and do it as a realtime movie, I'm gonna be a little upset.

Exaggerate much? It was a character driven modernisation that was done so to appeal to both old and new fans alike, and one that I think was done reasonably well =)

They said Live action 3d or something like that. Prolly like that Sky Tomorrow movie or something.

I don't think so. The movie was introducing humans characters an hour and a half into the movie. All the autobots were introduced in 5 minutes. All the Decepticons were introduced again in 5 minutes when Megatron woke up.

If it was character driven WHY couldn't the characters have been Transformers and not a buncha humans?

OFT: I agree with you Gaaz about Transformers, although I dont think it was a bad movie. I think it could have used a lot more Transformers and a lot less Shia LaBeouf. Although I could have stood to see a lot more of Megan Fox. However seeing as how the movie had a relatively low budget in todays standard and the shear mount of processing power required to render a single transformer in the movie, I understand why they didnt play as big a role as they should have in the first installment. We are all pretty much in agreement that their will be a sequel, and no matter how much it sucks lets hope they at least rectify that mistake when it comes around.

OT: As far as a live action or even a "Live Action 3d", which I'm assuming is something along the lines of Beowulf, version of Ghost in the shell is just an all around bad idea. No matter who is involved in its creation. Ghost in the Shell is a great anime, as was its sequel. Will I see it, when/if it comes out.... probably, but I wont have very high expectations.

I see your point about the fact the transformers had somewhat of a rushed introduction, but for alot of people, they were just giant robots, not the characters we grew up with and loved.

Because that is the way the script was written, yes, it would of been cool (for us as long time fans) for it to be a bit more transformer focused, but does that stop it from being an enjoyable movie? However, I fully respect it may of not been your cup of tea, and will stop going off-topic with my ramblings =)
