The closest I've ever gotten to hitting an animal with a wheel-oriented vehicle was when this sparrow lept out in front of me when I was skating one day. I, of course, pulled up and fell smartly on my ^_~ giving me one monster bruise (since I was on concrete) and not allowing me to sit down for two days.
The sparrow was fine.

I miss my car and want it back! They called me last week to tell me they found more damage...$4,000 for the total so far.

It was apparantly so bad that the insurance company had to give me money because it caused frame damage...but at least it's fixable/replaceable.

But it will be 3 weeks since the accident this Wednesday and I really want my car back. I'm convinced that the rental I'm in has gotten me and Dloe sick. It was the only "new" thing introduced into our lives recently. Although they washed the outside and vaccuumed and sprayed down the inside...the inside is still filthy, with dirt smudges all over and just general icky. That's why I think I picked up something from it.

We got a head cold and a stomach virus all rolled into one where we're both dealing with chest congestion now with honking coughs which suck. And being that the car is an '07, it looks like hell from all the people who've used it.

the ony funny plus to the rental though, is that I can drive it better than my car...it has a smaller rear that causes me not to ack into as much. Wink

I finally got my car back last night!!!

Its SO shiny and pretty now with a whole new front end and hood LoL. I kinda get a do-over for all the times I've nudged a curb or somehing in the garage that's left a scuff.

Just wish I had gotten the chance to do things a little slower. The Body Shop didn't call me until 4:30, when they close at 6. And I had to return the Rental first and they close @6 too. I made it with 10 minutes to spare. and passed 3 wrecks on the same road on my way.

I didn't exactly have that extra time to empty out the rental so I looked like a hobo with my bags of stuff that I forgot to take out from the weekend! Embarassed

$4,000 damage never came out so shiny though! Twisted Evil

I swear I hate Effing Car dealerships!

I drive it a couple days and it looks great, but it feels a bit off. The alignment feels like its not right and my tire pressure light is on. (which I find strange that it wasn't fixed)

So I call my insurance since they called me for a follow-up and ask them for advice and then call the dealership where they have me bring it back in.

I brought it in on Friday afternoon, knowing that all they could do with the time is to just look at it...and told them I'd be coming in. I get there and they act like they've never even seen or heard of me. They do some calling around to ask tons of questions until they finally send a guy out to look at my car and I don't think I've ever been more insulted in my life!

The guy actually had the balls to try to tell me that my alignment may feel off because I've been in a rental, and then persisted on about how they build roads today at a slant. They take it back and find that my tire pressures are WAY off and low...duh maybe that's messing with the alignment? I also got in a pissing match with the guy over a scuff on the bottom side of my back bumper that wasn't there when I brought it in. Me: "I didn't do it" Them: "Well we didn't either". And told me to bring it back today.

I bring it back in this morning and get the same treatment as before of "Who are you and why are you here?" where I have to deal with the manager who's maybe a tick higher in his ability to put up with. After enough bantering, he finally agrees to do something about the scuff but really pissed me off when he implied that it had to be me because the other end of the bumper is smooshed in, and pulled the same crap about how they weren't going to fix that part (that I NEVER said a word about fixing)

As it stands now, Im in the SAME rental car that I had last Tuesday all because they are trying to get my insurance to pay for an effing alignment. and the joke for why I'm in a rental is becuase the Body Shop and the Service Dept don't work together so the Body Shop doesn't have courtesy cars like the service center does. Confused

I really thought that the days of being treated like a stupid, helpless woman were over by now. Silly me Rolling Eyes

I was happy when I bought the car and how they improved their treatment there...but I guess the Body Shop hasn't gotten the memo yet. Even the female receptionist in there is nasty and a smartass.
