The plot was a bit hokey to me, but overall I was pretty satisfied with it as well. My biggest issue with it was that, for some reason, it didn't feel like the originals. Does that make any sense?

Ugh! Movies take too long to get over here! I am happy to see all these good reviews from like-minded people. I am a HUGE fan of the other Indiana Jones movies and was very worried when I hear they were making a new one. I have so far been comforted by the thought that Harrison Ford wouldn't have brought Indy out of mothballs for a crappy script so it must be good. I can't wait for it to come out here. Even if it does have Whitwicki!

Well, considering it's like 19 years later...I think. Around that, at least. Even just the title sequence shows how big of a change the viewer is about to go through with regards to the movie.

I felt it changed enough for 19 years of progression of culture, but I see where you're coming from in that.

The two scenes I didn't really like...monkeys and natives. I thought both were a bit much, and there were some overly dramatic parts of the movie.

Oh, for people going to watch it, keep an eye out for the CRADLE OF DOOM! Very Happy!

I saw this movie at a Drive-in..AFTER watching Prince Caspian and Speed Racer.

This is important because of the 3 movies that night Indiana Jones was the most cartoony by far.

I mean it had the campy fun action of the original films...But most of it was taken directly from the original films like the car chase played out basically just like the old mine cart scene.

And the plot...It had aliens...Ok, interdementional travelers that looked like aliens. Really? After finding the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant we're gonna do aliens? Wow...Maybe Spielberg wanted ET2 or something. Either way I'd wait for a DVD release if I could do it over again. And this one was the Last Indy movie which is good because it is actually at the end of my list for Indy movies.

Ark
Crusade
Temple
Skulls

Yeah, we just saw it today and my three big complaints are-- 1) Harrison Ford has really started looking his age...and because of that he just doesn't seem like a proper Indy to me anymore. He really just seems too old to do the things that Indy does.

2) The cheese. I mean, you expect a certain level of it, but this was just too much.

3) The aliens. Seriously. Not a good idea at all.

I do have a minor complaint that there was too much action-chasing stuff and not enough puzzle-solving too. The puzzle solving is half the fun! And there seemed to be significantly less plot than the others. Don't get me wrong, I love action, but if I want a movie that's non-stop action I'll go see Die-Hard. Indy's fun because he does -all- that stuff with some plot, some puzzles, and a bit of being chased. xD

Overall it was okay, but I really am rather disappointed. It doesn't even hold a candle to Speed Racer or Prince Caspian, the last two movies I saw before it. And since it's such a classic and the last one they're going to do, you'd really think they'd have gone all out and made it absolutely spectacular...but they really didn't. And it doesn't seem like they tried. They just sort've made it one more Jones movie with an ending-type ending.

Meh. xD

I was neither disappointed nor overly ga ga with the film. I wasn't regretting paying to see it though. I feel satisfied that it is the last film.

Points I loved:

They preserved the campy feel: script, graphics, scenery - as they had in all other Indy flicks. I have heard complaints that the FX weren't up to snuff but I can honestly say that it made me feel like I was a kid again watching an Indy flick. I'm happy they preserved it and didn't try to flash it up too much with our new fangled technology.

Typical Indy moments: the motorcycle/car tug of war, instructing the student in the library after the crash, the blow dart, the snake "rope" to name a few. Another wonderful case of preserving the character of Indy. It wasn't Harrison Ford, it was Indy all the way.

Cate Blanchett. Yum. Girl crush number 1. She played a good spooky Russian.

Interdimensional time travellers refered to as "archeologists" when Indy and friends are walking through the room with all the artifacts from different times. I come from a family where half believe in aliens and the others don't. I think it was a nifty spin to refer to them as archeologists because it offered a different explanation to any kinds of "visits" being made.

The fact Shia didn't get to put on the fedora. ACE!

The overall fact that the movie wasn't Indy as a "dinosaur" trying to figure out all this "new fangled technology" that would justify his age and dying existance. Thank god they didn't go that route.

Points I could have done without:

Predicatable scripting:
- "They all had the same problem." "What's that?" "They weren't you."
- "He's your son!"

The obligatory wedding.

The weird glossing over Pop Jones and Dr. Brody. Eh. I mean, I guess it was ok to represent it as people not living forever but it seemed far too real a plot line to represent in the movie when it really had no point. I mean, Sean Connery wasn't in Raiders or Temple. So what if he wasn't in Crystal Skull? The Brody nod with the statue was pretty cute though.

ALIENS DUDE! Seriously? I guess with the "commie" and "space race" of the time it was kind of fitting even if it was from a metaphysical angle.

I guess the best I can say is, remember the first time you saw the Indy films. Don't go rewatch them right before because you feel a need to catch up again. Remember how you felt watching them the first go round. Take that with you into the theater or when you rent it and you won't be disappointed.

Wasn't there a picture of Sallah on Indy's desk when he was talking about his Dad dying? Cause Indy was talking about the "rough couple of years."

The movie wasn't horrible but I don't think it fully captured what I remember watching with my mom as a kid.

It wasn't a bad flick it just really wasn't what I could have hoped for. Or something. Maybe because I remember Ark more fondly than Crusade...Crudsade was more campy than the others and the forth movie was campier still. Maybe it just jumped the shark...The campy one with the funny hat.
