So I'm driving down Powdersprings road in Georgia with my friend, we went just up to the street from his house to the store to get cigs and on the way back my friend was like"deer...." and I said "what." not really hearing him as he said it like he was still wondering if he was right and the next thing I hear is "DEER!!!" So I quickly turn to my left and looked right into the eyes. I swerved by instinct to the right as I as managed to turn my head to check to see it was clear, it wasn't, not to get fully over and so I did what i could do and tried to pull into the lane to my right and then to the left to avoid hitting the other car. Wham! I regained control of the car pulled to the center lane(left turn lane) got out and looked at the back where i felt t hit, sure enough a big dent and no left tail light, except brake. |

Holy crap! I'm glad you're okay and no one was injured. Deer are so unpredictable and can severely damage a car so you are very lucky! |

I've had plenty of occasions around here, driving at night where I found myself inches away from a deer who decided to leap at the last second right across the road.
I usually find that my heart rate is REALLY high after that. *explodeS* |

Deer are dispicable, when it comes to their road antics. ;/
I almost nailed one a few months back on the way to my apartment. I could've screamed it scared me so much. But I didn't. Because I'm a big tough man. |

i have a reinforced grill guard on Komusai (the truck) for a reason. I dont swerve for deer as that can cause more damage and this is a ford truck. someone rear ended me the other day and the truck absorbed the damage while their car was ripped to bits around their front right tire. they hit the trailer hitch leaving paint, left 2 marks in the plastic, and damaged the plug in for trailer lights. sure gas mileage sux but i am the bane of bad drivers as they get damaged while i get more paint marks on the chrome.
plus there is one advantage to me hitting a deer: its sacrifice will not be wasted....yum!  |
