Depends on who you ask. 
I watch Democracy Now on Linktv. Two of their producers/journalists were arrested (on Monday), and the main anchorwoman was arrested when she came to enquire (from the RNC convention center) about her journalists. Her RNC entry pass (hard to get) was stolen by a secret service agent.
Homeland security my ass. When policemen start blatantly ignoring press passes and abusing the media while they are -reporting- on the riot is ridiculous. An AP photographer was also arrested along with a New York Post (right-wing media, by the way, in case you want to call these policeman partisanship) photographer. There is a video from one camerawoman being chased by policeman in a parking lot. She is screaming press (with passes around her neck and all) at the policeman; they grab her and throw her to the ground. Her face is pushed on the ground, and her screams are chilling.

I honestly don't know, really. I just highly despise arrogance and an inflated sense of pride in something that ultimately leads to an inflated sense of entitlement. And more and more I see that manifesting itself in this country. |

Actually I hold both candidates equally in contempt, and for very similar reasons.
Obama wants to implement more social services, cut taxes, and generally expand the role and function of domestic government without even mentioning in the least how we are going to afford this when we are 10 trillion in the hole by the most generous accounting standards.
McCain wants to go pick fights with any funny sounding A-rab country in the Middle East, cut taxes deeper, spend and expand the role of our military and foreign aid. Without mentioning how we are going to afford this.
So basically, either candidate I get will happily throw money around like a moron at a strip club, put us deeper into international debt so we will start being more obligated with nations that most certainly do not have our best interests at heart.
But then again why worry about such trifles when Palin is a MILF, and Obama does the "Terrorist Fist Jab". I swear the Weekly World News has more accurate in-depth reporting than what I'm reading and watching on MSM. |
