VCD - It's Technical!

Ok, this thing said problems with the board or ANYTHING Technical.

I finally got my Slayers Gorgeous movie into MPEG-1 layer and the video works perfect-like on my DVD player HOWEVER for SOME reason there is no sound...And when I ran the CD through me comp it worked fine.

My question is, does anyone know and easier and/or effective way to convert an AVI into MPEG-1 without or with even converting it to WMV first?

Mods, feel free ta move this if you feel it should be somewhere else but I couldn't find a place.

Well I use Nero to convert my AVIs but once it does I can only play them on my DVD player and not on the PC anymore. It could be a problem with me needing better DivX drivers or something. What program do you use?

I've never gotten to converting the files to diff types tho. I just haven't delved deep enought o know if I can or not. I don't have a lot of video stuff on my PC, just audio mostly cause that's my specialty.

look up something called TMPG encoder. i use it to change all my .mov into .mpg so i can burn em to VCD using nero.

Can it change WMV or AVI's? That's all I can find for Slayers Go (It has never been released in America after all).

Well, I used the Windows XP Video maker to turn it into WMV, then used Roxio Movie maker to change it to Mpeg-2, then Dazzle for Mpeg-1. So yeah, it took some time.

Thanks Chibs, I've had mixed success with Nero when dealing with any format other than AVIs. Sometime I get good results, sometimes I get scrambled vid, sometimes I get total nothing. I'll look up that program.

BTW Az, is the Slayers stuff subbed, dubbed, or raw? I haven't watched anything raw since my early Yu Yu Hakusho days (refuse to watch it on CN). My Japanese is so poor now that I couldn't understand anything more than "Konichiwa".

yah it can change all movie files except .mov..unitl you find a plugin for it. So yeah...i t does

Ok, the Slayers looks like a first cut from a Japanese Laser Disc or DVD then some subbers got ahold of it and degraded quality but not by much but they did a good job...Well, from what I've seen.

But I did finally make my VCD...Seems my computer came with a VCD maker thingy that actually takes the video files and makes a title scren for whatever you have on the disc and you can pick on yer player. the best part is that unlike OTHER VCD's I can Fast-forward through all the Emotion openings and Kadegawa symbols! Or FF to the part I left off on. (I didn't program any screen stops cause that would take time n'stuff)

So Now I have a Slayers GO VCD that basically looks like it did on the computer an hence is a bit blurry but it gets the job done. JOY!

Now I can get them Subtitled Star Oceans (Since it ain't done been released yet).

And again, Pirating anime that is available by simply trekking down to yer local video store is wrong but taking stuff that doesn't exist in America is cool...hehehe
