FLU SHOTS! AHHHH! - <wherein Doot is poked>

OK, I just got my flu shot.

Yippeee for striking before being struck!

I don't mind the shot part but I will tell you my arm aches afterwards. But that wasn't the worst part. It was the fact that Doot is ill-prepared in such situations and wears shirts that don't allow for easy rolling up. So she has to unbutton her shirt whilst trying to remain covered in the main entrance/rotunda where all the windows and everyone lined up and everyone upstairs looking over the edge. Well, needless to say a good 30 people got good cleavage shots of the Doot.

Last year they had it in a room and everyone faced away from the people lined up for their shots. ~sniffle~

Damn! I knew I shouldn't have skipped my flu shot today. It's not everyday ya get to see cleavage on someone attractive. I mostly see it on fat guys ~shudder~ not to mention a lack of cleavage on crack whores. Ahhh, the joys of working for public assistance. Hmmm, with my contact with like 100 sickly people a day maybe I should get a shot... If only they could gas you before they give it to you...I hates needles so much.

Shot's aren't fun, though I learned to stand taking them when my father was taking me to get them and he'd say: "If you can take this without going nuts (I've NEVER liked doctors. NEVER.) then I'll give you a buck." So I decided that I would try this whole "cooperation" thing. You just gotta get it out of your head that someone is impaling your arm with a needle. After that it's fine. Still, flu shots suck, and since I never get the flu (I have a strong immune system. The last time that I had to stay home from school or work was because I was sick it turned out to be appendicitis and I hadn't really noticed. Burst appendixes = BAD) I'm going to decline on that one.

I never take flu shots... here is my reasoning:

Argument I:
1) You get the shot to prevent getting sick.
Subpoint A) The flu shot isn't always effective, because they try to predict which flu strain will visit the US, and they don't always prdict right.

2) Getting any kind of vaccination suppresses your immune system, by virtue of the fact that you are injected with a fake cold. You immune system immeadiately sets to work killing it.
Subpoint A) I already get sick really easily.

3) Becuase of my already weak and then suppressed immune system, i catch a cold.

4) My body considers any vaccination more important, so I stay sick with a cold for a month or two. (It really sucks) And I always, and I mean always, get sick after any shot. So yeah, the summer right before college sucked~!

5) With my luck, if I ever got a flu shot, they would be wrong about which flu is coming, and I'd get the flu anyways.

Argument II:
1) I absolutely beyond a doubt passionatley HATEHATEHATE needles.

So - weighing "Little sick for a long time" versus "Lot sick for a little time" I choose the latter. Blah.

Sorry. Just thought I'd enlighten everyone. I have some pretty horrendous stories about healthcare and needles... but i won't delve into that right now...

Never got just why people were afraid of needles, seeing as the needle itself is usually going towards the ultimate benefit of your body, and not attempting to hurt you.
