*** See Evangelion Like Never Before! ***
You're not gonna believe this one, guys... ADV has just issued a press release
saying they have the rights to create a live-action theatrical movie based on
one
of the best selling anime titles of all time, Neon Genesis Evangelion!
It will be a collaboration between ADV Films, Gainax, and Weta Workshop Ltd.
(the
company that did the special effects for the Lord of the Rings movies). At this
time, the movie is said to be in the earliest stages of development, though its
timetable is "an aggressive one". Nothing further is available yet on who will
play the starring roles, or when the film will see release, though more
information is certainly forthcoming.
I can't say if this is a good idea or bad..Haveta wait for the cast list before I decide. |

It might be good... it might be terrible. I just want to see who gets to be Gendo and can they pull off the stern look that made him so wonderful. Gendo is so wonderful.
They had better get the costuming right... I am going to be ticked off if they do not get the NERV uniforms right... who cares about the kids... I want authetic uniforms! And do not screw up the EVAs!!!

I just hope they don't confuse Evangelion with Gundam and forget about the Plugs and the Eva's inability to fly. (Until the movie of course)
But PLEASE begin the movie with "This is Evangelion as it would have happened in an Alternate universe" or SOMETHING to that effect. I'd hate for them to pull an X and cram 24 mangas/episodes into one and a half hours. |
