I think that it kinda goes to show you that when you drop all the preconceptions of age and are simply YOU then people from all places and all ages can talk together and relate to one another simply as people. Of course I'm an idealist, and thusly my perceptions are a little skewed about things like this. But even considering that I think that there's at least an element of that in there.

Hee hee hee... I had this picture in my head of leaning down, whispering into the ground and suddenly this HUGE mouth opened up in the surface of the earth and it started singing "We are the World! We are the people!"
Anyway, to continue, I am a firm believer in the universality of spirit and truth and wisdom, that there are things that occur within every culture, truths that transcend the insubstancial boundries that we call "differences." In this way I believe in the universal religion, the universal myth and the Human Spirit. And, to those that are wondering, yes I AM a Joseph Campbell reader. The man just makes so much sense!

Joseph Campbell is one of my alltime favorite writers/speakers/human beings. His work is very much where I turn to for spiritual guidance and tolerance; plus The Power of Myth is an absolutely amazing mini-series.
This is required reading/knowledge for any human, so says me. |
