Neo Ranga... it is just totally bizarre and the animation of that series is just phenominal... in addition... if you can get ahold of the sound track, it will blow you away.

I am going to bite the bullet and also say .Hack... in all it's variations... the problem is really trying to get them all straight and playing the games too... but with the second series just coming out in Japan, the First series coming out state side, and the first and second video games... it is well worth the massive ammount of time and effort to go diving and learning all the secrets of the world... a true test of the Otaku right there!

For those old schoolers out there, you forgot classics like Macross Plus... and for us really old schoolers... Captain Harlock! In all his movies... mmmmm... joy there. And while on that universe, we can't leave out Space Battleship Yamato/Starblazers, Galaxy Express 999, and Queen Esmerelda (sp?)... there is just a certain joy that be derived from such classics.

Also in the old school but not so old... Original Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Zeta Zeta (double Zeta) Gundam... and pretty much any Gundam movie set in the UC timeline... characters with a great amount of depth and plot twists that make any of the AC timeline gundams cry for their mommies... well, not counting Gundam Seed of course.

If you can get your hands on it or are willing to look and wait for it... Macross Zero should be pretty good.

Someone already mentioned Hellsing, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop but since the latter two are on Cartoon Network... no need to mention them further.

Crest of the Stars and Battleflag of the Stars. I honestly thought good space operas were dead or left only to the masters who give us Harlock series... but these two series really opened my eyes. Excellent animation, deep story..., and characters that you actually want to know more about... it pulls you in and leaves you wanting more.

On a much softer note... Love Hina, Love Hina Next, and all the movies for it. It is just perfect... the Manga is better but hey, what do I know?

Along similar lines... we can go and watch Fruits Basket. Very, very, very well done. You will love every character in that series... so well done... I can't suggest this series enough!

You want something fun? Excel Saga has already been mentioned but it should be mentioned again only because it is this generation's Otaku No Video or Project A-Ko in terms of the quest to identify all the different parodies that they do in that series... that and the final 4 episodes are the best ever!

Toss in Digi Charat. Nyo! Nuff said... well not really but oh my is this series on crack and has the demented cute level turned up to max. Good luck finding it but it is well worth it and seems to have a number of spin offs/sequals that just seem to get better and better as time goes on. Also invest in the Manga! Support Anime Gamers USA so that they will bring more Rabi En Rose and Pyoko stuff over for me to horde... MWAHAHAHAHA!!!

And finally, only because it is so well done and funny yet sad at the same time, Kanon. Again, good luck finding it but if you get the complete series... it is really good... just you are going to have your heart strings pulled in like 10 directions... all sad really but in the end happy. Well worth the time to watch it. I am personally waiting for my copy to be returned. Damn Piro for introducing this series to the general population!

Oh, one last one since I am on a roll here... Great Teacher Onizuka (sp?). You want to know just how bad it could of been for you in High school... or for those of you who are still there... how bad it could be? Watch this and be thankful for the fact that you don't go to this school. Oh my... this is just an awesome series... oh, well worth the time to get it for sure... and read the Manga too... again... worth it.

Well Excel Saga, duh.

And try Those Who Hunt Elves, I love that anime!

And if you tried out its ps2 brother, the .hack anime called .hack//sign. I like it.

Course you can watch english subbed uneditted yu-gi-oh, if you have the money like I do. Its ten times, no hundred times better than the KidsWB crap they shove down our throats.....

Wow. Hot most of the ones that I've watched on the head... but, I still have more. Mwa-ha-ha...

Try Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu no Koto (Someday's Dreamers.) IT's short, like Haibane Renmei, but it's also excellent, like Haibane Renmei.

Gundam X is an excellent Gundam series. The AW timeline works.

Let's see, what else. Read or Die, definitely. (Hopefully soon enough, it's sequel, Read or Dream.)

Last Exile is excellent and fairly recent.

If you want to, you can go after Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. It's an excellent series.

Excel and Digi are both worth going after. If you liked Excel, watch Puni Puni Poemy.

Hmm... Whether or not you like Tenchi Muyo or not is up to you. The latest, GXP, is interesting.

I dunno whether you want to try Scrapped Princess. I didn't like it after watching the first couple of episodes, but that's me.

And if you're really hurting for stuff, go get some manga. There's a lot of excellent stuff out there too.
