yeah i meant the scion of darkness. The thing with that is that you can put an enchantment on him that will let him do direct damage if he taps, like arcane teachings. same with the dripping dead. with one of those enchantments, there is no way anyone can stop you from just picking off their creatures, and then stealing them with the Scion. fling would also work with the dripping dead. Hey... i should try some of these....

Not to intentionally shoot down your ideas, but I would like to enlighten you to something. Those guys need to do "combat damage" for their special abilities to go off. This means that they need to do damage as a result of attacking or blocking in order for their abilities to trigger. They would be unfairly powerful if it just said "damage" and you could slap a pinging enchantment on them!

Ok well try this: put lure on dripping dead, and attack with it and the scion of darkness at the same time. That creates much of the same effect, except that the dripping dead would die. A MUCH better way to do it is to have a black/green deck that has 4 taunting elves and 4 lures in it, along with phage. The strategy of that would be just to get out phage and taunting elf and just attack the opponent. it would be g ood to have out multiple taunting elves or creatures with lure on them, so that in the case of a battle against a direct damage deck, they would not kill the taunting elf and then block the phage with a big creature to kill her, thus killing you. There is also mythic proportions. That and any other pump up cards would be good to have on phage so that she doesn't die in any case, direct damage or no.

Wow that must be the most un-type 2 deck I have ever seen. I play type 2 without even thinking about it. Hey did you know that snow-covered anything is illegal in type 2? i wonder why? It does the same thing as a regular land.

About the snow-covered land thing, I didn't know that, but that would mean that, by not allowing snow-covered, lots of cards would end up totally useless (such as Icequake).

O and I can't even call it a Type 1, I think I'm not legal with those dark rituals, and the Yotian soldier, and some other stuff, I won't start counting what is banned in type 2, cause I think I'd end up copy pasting the damn deck.


I mean geee, it was already a pain to take my 198 cards and make a 60 (+15 sideboards) deck out of it, now I'd have to respect the legal card regulations!? Screw them! Damn, they could give me a chance, this deck is older then the Earth! ... maybe not <_<

Well, it used to be legal, back in the ol days. My youngest card in there is dated from 1997, and the oldest is ... well, I can't tell, some have no dates at all (like my hypnotic specter, and one of my cursed land ... god I love that card, I bet it's banned )

well dark rituals were reprinted so its all good. i guess for me its pretty easy to make a legal deck since i have thousands of cards. go ahead and play with that one though, it may be good for something like an unofficial tourney.

Stuff is only legal or illegal if you plan on playing in tournaments and stuff. Don't NOT build a deck or use a card just because it may be illegal in a particular tournament format. While I have played tourneys, and considered myself a tourney player at certain points, I am moving away from tournament play, and beginning to play just for fun. The problem nowadays is that so many people are so obsessed with tourneys and banned and restricted lists that they have lost touch of what this game was originally created for: FUN. I say, screw the tournaments. Just go out there, build a deck with whatever the hell you want, and have fun playing with it.

...just for those of you who haven't figured this out yet, we're currently working on ONBC. Only stuff from onslaught through scourge. So try to keep the non-ONBC suggestions to a minimum, please.

I'll go ahead and start a new thread for deck critiqueing and you all can post your decks for review there. How does that sound?

Ming, I like your idea. I would say probably take out 1 call and 2 carrion feeder(or possibly even 4 carrion feeder) and replace them with raptors or cutthroats. Also, if we're going to run undead warchief, we may want to think about running some of the more expensive zombies...like gravespawn sovereign. You know what I mean? Also, for creature kill, my favorite is probably Deathmark Prelate. If you don't know what it does, it's a 2/3 for 4. 2B,T, Sacrifice a Zombie: Destroy target non-zombie creature. It can't be regenerated. Now, it may be that we leave it out simply b/c it's a cleric, but I'm just suggesting it because I like it. What do you think?

Yeah, I like that idea. Also, we should pick one deck to focus on in here. I like the idea of doing Zombies, but Lews proposed a lot of decks, so we should choose just one.
