I think everyone should just start posting on the new forum (magic decks for review). and what is decree of justice? |

I'm game for that Lews...there's just one problem...how does the deck work? I looked up Decree of Justice and Insurrection, but I couldn't figure out how to use them together. A little enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. |

Well the actual heart of the deck is the Ambush Commander/Aggravated Assault combo. Aggravated assault enables you to untap all your creatures(and lands, since ambush commander turns them into creatures), thus generating infinite mana. With all this mana now available to you, you can now Read the Runes to draw your entire deck. Now, taking into account that read the runes has a downside, you also have to discard almost all of those cards from your hand. This is why there is only one decree and only one insurrection in the deck. now that you have those two, you can again use the infinite mana base to decree of justice for like 60(or you can cycle it if you don't want it countered) And then insurrection. Insurrection gives you control of all creatures, but more importantly, it gives all creatures haste until end of turn, enabling you to attack with the army you just played with decree of justice. It was the only way I could think of in ONBC to play the army and attack on the same turn.
Decree of Justice XX2WW
Put X 4/4 White Angel tokens with flying into play.
Cycling X2W
When you Cycle, you may choose to put X 1/1 White Soldier tokens in play. |

I see what you mean, that's a cool combo. But are you sure that it works? I mean, the Ambush Commander only turns Forests into creatures, which means that only your Forests will be untapped by the Aggravated Assault, and since the Assault requires red mana to activate, you'd either need to a) find some way of turning Mountains into "Forests" or b) find some way to have your Forests produce red mana, otherwise, you'll run out of red eventually. You're also going to need to somehow produce blue mana and white mana so you can play the Read the Runes and the Decree. |

Birchlore Rangers.
But I don't care anymore. Scrap all of my other suggestions and bow to the power of this deck:
//NAME: Wirewood Feeder
4 Carrion Feeder
4 Bloodline Shaman
3 Twisted Abomination
3 Swamp
9 Forest
4 Tranquil Thicket
4 Wirewood Lodge
4 Wirewood Hivemaster
3 Wirewood Herald
4 Wirewood Symbiant
4 Wirewood Elf
3 Treetop Scout
4 Taunting Elf
3 Defiant Elf
4 Birchlore Rangers
3rd turn kill. Rare, but it's possible. Wirewood Symbiant is now God.
It's an elf deck, so creatures will come out at high speed. Once you have Symbiant, Elf, and Hivemaster, Feeder, and a one-drop elf, you bounce the 1-drop to your hand to untap something, play it with the Wirewood Elf, bounce it to your hand to untap the wirewood elf, play it again, and so on, thus generating infinite Insect tokens, which you can sacrifice to your carrion feeder when you attack. |

That's a cool idea...and I hate to burst your bubble, but Wirewood Symbiote says that the ability can only be played once per turn. If it wasn't for that, it would be a beautiful combo, and it would be pretty freakin easy to pull off as well. |

How about the Mind's Desire/Spelljack deck? I was talking with Rev about it yesterday when we went out to dinner, and we were talking about how it could be cool, and really powerful. It's Type 2, by the way. Also, I would love to build a deck with Spelljack, because it's got one of the funniest names I've ever heard. Well, aside from Sneaky Homunculous that is... |

Well, the problem with the Mind's Desire/SpellJack deck is that it's EXTREMELY mana intensive.
I checked it out to see how it would work on a Wake base...nada. There's no room in the Wake base for adding things like cantrips because most of the deck is consumed by stall, which we will also need. I think we will need to be stalling in a different form, though...maybe Windborn Muse? Maybe an Opposition Base?
Also, there's no way to fix what you're going to pull with Mind's Desire. First line of the card: Shuffle your library.
edit: actually, wait. Could we Stifle that part of the spell? It wouldn't make a HUGE difference, but It would help a little bit, wouldn't it? |
