ya, but demonic, once u get to the end of the game, u really make a LOT of money, and witha combination of 3 Black Mages using CatClaws, and the last one using Masamune...it'll all work out. And once u start to lvl in the earth cave at that part where every step u take is a giant and lizard dude, u start to get a LOT of gold...and that is VERY VERY GOOD!

But ya...if anything, u can replace one of the BM's with a fighter or a WM, for some healing. But u will have the offensive power to destroy basically anything. Man do i love LIT2

actually, i would be willing to try a fighter/WM/BM/BM party, two good casters, one tank, and one healer who isnt a great tank, but works as one (my white wizard has more hp than my ninja...)

Beat Chaos, something I never did on the NES version, and am now goign at it again, but I've subbed out the Thief/Ninja for a Black Belt(Monk)/Master and am going to see how well that works. Still have some creatures to destroy and put in the bestiary.

heh...i dont like BB's. they arent that great, and the thief is a little better. WHy? Well, the BB is very undefensive, and all the money that you willbe saving on a BB is going to go to clinc costs. Second, in order for them to get good, they need to be around lvl 45-50, which is hard, because he suxors overall Finally, he is one of the ugliest sprites ever

Now, i would prefer a thief because of a couple of reasons: A - He turns into a ninja, and gains magic, which a BB / Master NEVER gets. B - I think that the Ninja eventually turns out to have more HP then a BB, but less than a fighter...i dunno. C - The thief has a very VERY good ability in the early game that you will need: The ability to run from virtually any battle. This is very valuable in the early game when u dont have the pure spell, and are running low on pure pots, and u go into that group of 4-8 arachnids or snakes, or whateverthehell you run into.

And that would be my reasons

PS: I think that a fighter WM BM BM party would be a very good party indeed.

i agree, overall the black belt just doesnt measure up to the other characters. he never gets ANY form of magic, which every other character does. his physical attacks take a very long time to get to be worthwhile, and his defense is at the same level as a mage, and his hp is less than a fighter, which makes him an AWFUL tank. dont go with him unless you can deal with lots of castings of Life/clinic visits, and healing him all the time, and waiting a looooong time for him to be useful.

it was quite a few years ago, but if memory serves, at end-game both blackbelts were attacking for 8,000+ damage per attack.

I took down Chaos with lv. 29 characters, and the fighter was doing severe damage thanks to a lot of Steel Magic that came through the area. I figure that the fighter will get the chance to wield Masamune this time around.

hmm, u could od that, or u could give masamune to whatever character has the weakest offensive character, but thats up to you. Its just that he does a good amaount of damage using Xcalibur in the late game, but u can do whatever ya want

And winter, i know that he does around that much damage, and can very well take out chaos in one hit, but i find that its just too hard to play with them, because they all die way too easily.
