Yes, well.. I will post! Which, really means I'm not playing SWG ALL the time, just most of it... *cough*...
Actually, D&D has dragged on and on for me. It's not so much the setting, as just the d20 system. I can't stand it! It's so.... icky.
Anyhoo, there are certainly a lot more games out there that I do play. Namely, games using the d10 system. Exalted, Vampire, Werewolf... I've converted a few games with my friends, and made a few new ones, into the d10 system from the d20 system. We've run into a few issues occasionally, but luckily we can think on our feet, among other things. We've converted games such as D&D, D20 Modern, Call of Cthulhu, Starwars, shadowrun, Ghost-Dog, anything we can get our hands on really...
But, if you like D&D, and you're ready to try out something suited to a more serious roleplayer, I would suggest playing Exalted, It's quite... well, exalted... *cough*.. Combat in Exalted has got to be a lot more fun than D&D, not to mention a lot more nerve wracking and realistic. Since the d10 system has health-levels as apose to hp. But, I'm kind of rambling. Combat! We'll take my character for example, he's a martial artist but I tend to use a Dai-Katana more so. Anyhoo, if I were to attack someone I wouldn't say "I attack him", roll a d20, add my hit modifier, roll a d10 and my damage modifier... I'd say something more along the lines of "After narrowly avoiding the swing of the terrestrial-exalted's war-hammer, I spin once, extending my sword sending my sword flying towards his side." THEN roll damage. And most likely kill him, as apose to having combat go on for another hour or two.
Funny roleplaying story: We were playing exalted, and the self proclaimed 'best combatist' in the group (hah! that title clearly belongs to me) goes out to hunt for food. She found a badger, I think it was. And she struck at it. The GM proclaimed she "hit it on the snout" and the second he said snout, our friend beside him immediatly spit out a mouthfull of pop on our GM. Haha, I dunno.. you must have had to have been there when that transpired. It became a bit of an inside joke when we came to a town called Juush.... I'll leave that one to your imagination
Anyway, I AM on SWG at this moment.. actually. So really.. that means I shouldn't even exist-*dissapears in a poof of logic* |

Ahhh, D&D, what a game. I recently started a new character, a dwarven fighter named Rurik, I didn't roll as well for stats as I did with my half orc barb (18-18-18-18-16-14), but I did get three 18's and 20-30 odd hitpoints. The fighter's bonus feats rock!!!! I have ambidextarity and two weapon fighting, with two dwarven war axes (my DM automatically gives races their races weapon profiecancies) and my DM gift is discustingly powerful for so low level a character, +3 breastplate!!!! |

Cool, my barb is named Ma, he is afraid of tiny furry animals, like mice. He is also very high level now! And he could drink your gnome under the table any day!!!!! |
