Demon angel

Two years have passed now, and that one sunny morning on a Tuesday in September is still vivid in my mind's eye. The fear, the sorrow, the jealous joy that my own family wasn't hurt, the pain of losing a friend on the 89th floor of Tower 1. 730 days since then and the images cannot and will not go away.

We have moved away from mourning, from guilt that we still live while others died, but the time has come to begin healing our wounds, and recognizing that the actions of a few should not hold the many hostage. We are greater than that, and now is the time take the first step.

E Pluribus Unum

Cal, I am sorry to hear about your friend.

I think we will all remember where we were that day 2 years ago. I had just gotten to my office at IBM and had started working. I was cut off from all TV and radio brodcasts at the time. Someone on my team walked in the door and said "A plane just hit the WTC." Everyone went home early that day.

All I could feel is overwelmed. I honestly didn't know how sorry I could feel, or how many times I could take watching the devistation on the news. It was and still is too much to handle. But we will return. We will overcome. We will rebuild. And we will recover. There will be a new WTC, and it will be the most amazing piece of architecture this world has ever know.

God bless the USA and more importantly, God Bless all of her people.

It's funny, I'll always remeber that day, I'll remeber last year today, and I'll probably remeber today as well.

9/11/2001 - I saw the second tower collapse in front of my eyes.
9/11/2002 - I remeber what board I was on, and myself and my best friend lightened the mood a bit on what was an otherwise somber day.
9/11/2003 - I don't know what will happen for me today, but there's always one thing that never changes.

I never forget.
USA.

I could not ever describe the feeling that ran through my body as I watched the news right as the second plane hit. Devistated and violated it left a nation feeling vulnerable in the first time in MANY years. It has been a journey for towards healing these past couple of years, although I fear, Hollywood has already circulated and filmed recollections of the day, a little premature I think.

We have prevailed. 911 changed how a nation looked outward and more importantly inward.

Never forgotten.

i remember every single detail of what happened that day, and ive never been to the US in my life!!!

id just had my first induction day of my second attempt to go thru college (i quit the first cours ei tried the year before as it was way too similar to the art course i did at school, so i did IT instead), we'd been filling in forms and going thru rules, the normal first day kind of stuff. my friend was in the year abovem e, as he had started this course the year before. we both finished at the same time and went to burger king for something to eat, i got a triple bacon cheeseburger (this is how well i remember it) and we went into Gamestation and was talking to the guy in there about Panzer Dragoon Saga as my firned had just completed it the night before. after that we decided to go back to his, id slept at his the night before (coz i needed to use his computer and had missed the bus) so my dreamcast and stuff was still there, we got back, i set up my dc to do some levelling on pso and he went on the pc. half an hour later his mum came running upstairs and told us to put BBC1 on as something had happened that would change the world forever, all we were shown were stills of the first plane hitting the WTC and then later after the second impact just a picture of smoke billowing out of the 2nd tower, i dont think anyone in britain saw video footage for a long long time.

That day put me in shock I was just finishing work when the first tower was struck. Someone came in and said it had been struck I thought they were joking, then I saw the second tower get hit on TV as I walked out of the building. As soon as I got into my truck I turned on the radio so that I could hear any news at all. I got home just after the pentagon building was struck. When I walked in my parents weren't even aware of what had happened we live out in the country and they hadn't had the TV on. I think they were surprised at this as well. I spent the rest of the day kind of dazed.

9/11...it seemed like a while ago. And it is still brought to our attention. I remember that day very well. It was strange, being told that a plane had hit the WTC. I thought that it was a joke at first...but then i got the confirmation by my teacher. I sat there, and absorbed the thought. I felt something so strange. I was somewhere else when i heard that come from the teachers mouth...like a blasted landscape, with nothing there...except for me. If felt like an alternate reality...like a place filled with teh essence of tears and hatred, and anger. When i finally snapped to, i noticed that some people were crying, while others were comforting. That was one of the most unifying times in my school, when everyone forgot differences. People helped each other, and made others feel like they were safe.

I got home that day, and turned on the TV, and saw it happen. As soon as that plane hit that building, i felt my mind get vaulted back into that false landscape...all alone and with nothing but the feelings of torment. I snapped too again, and continued to watch. Never again, have i felt that feeling. And i hope to not feel it again.

what happened on that day was something that changed all of our lives. Now, we hear of it again, in the news, on the radio, on TV...whereever. I hope that we all remember this time, which affected everyone as strangely as it did. I also hope that something liek this never happens. I couldnt bare to be in that place again.

That is all Hmmm

I was flying alot around then, and I had a flight scheduled for that week that had to be pushed. I remember thinking, great, more delays.
And, This changes EVERYTHING.
But, I dont really think it has. I think that most Americans just wanted it to go away like a bad dream. That isn't the answer. Vigilance, and retribution are. I'm just glad that we didn't have a democommunist...err -crat president that would have wanted to hold hands and sing Kum-Bi-Ya with Osama, and found out if he experienced any "bad touches in the NO zone" when he was little.

I actually was in class when it happened... I didn't know anything had happened until after I was returning from it. From then on, the televisions all over the campus were tuned up. I had dorm-mates who were from NY just across the hall from us. Was definitely a scary day.

But I think I was able to handle it fairly well... I had a marching band show get changed because of it. I think that helped.
