I somehow don't think so, Righty. Unless it falls under their purvey, I don't think the RIAA's interested in garage bands... after all, who do they have to turn to in order to get national billings and stuff like that?

well, originally this software was created to share music between amateur bands so as to gain recognition, and they've already shut down 3 of the programs, and now they are going after people who share music. it could happen, it wouldnt last a minute, but it could happen.

Well, unless you can impose some sort of controls on the software so that only those outside the RIAA's domain can be shared, you're going to have this problem. So right now, it appears to be an all or nothing affair.

which is the point im making, they are looking at this too much in the black and white sense, the truth is there are and always will be grey area.

Yes, but looking at everything like that makes you a relativist with no morals at all, at least in many's opinion, and so you're just as bad as those who do file-sharing.

In either case, there may be murmurings of prices coming down on some labels to try and make people happier.
