Initial d arcade stage ver. 2 - My latest addiction!

Sweet arcade style racing based on one of Japan's hottest anime and manga + some of the best super-eurobeats heard this side of DDR = my latest addiction: Initial D!

I've heard of Initial D for quite some time, but was never really into it. Then one day, I walked in my local arcade and seen the game there for the first time. It's nothing like I've ever seen before. Sure, it's a competitive racing game at it's core, but if you've played it enough times, you'll know why it's so damn addiciting!

I swear, I put this game in the same league as DDR and Para Para. They all have killer music and addicting gameplay. Learning to drift flawlessly against the corners, trying to out-speed your opponent (human or CPU) while having adrenaline inducing eurobeats blaring by your ears (the music in this game is LOUD and for good reason) you can't help but get permanently drawn into it.

The best novelty about this game is the card you can purchase directly from the cabinet itself. It's basically a memory card for whatever car your choose. The more you play, the more points you can accumilate and upgrade your car. Currently I have 2 cards, each with a Skyline (one automatic and one manual). I hope I can get as good as some of the guys I've raced against. I admit, I lost more than I won, but hey, you gotta start somewhere. And I AM getting better.

Finally someone else has the ADDICTION!!!! I've lost ALOT on money on that...plus I've seen all the Initial D anime, include all of stage 1 and 2, and the stage 3 movie, did you know a stage 4 is in the works

Yes! Fellow Initial D addicts! I thought I was alone for a hot minute. But I'm glad to know I'm not!

I too have lost LOADS of money on that machine, and happily continue to do so! But for some reason, I keep going up against experts that are a way higher level than me (some with that cool ass aura!) and getting my ass whipped, or by myself because the player next to me is a begginer and is refusing challenges. But that's ok, because like I said before, I'm getting better and better.

Skyline, I just bought the first DVD a few weeks ago, so I have yet to see the whole series. No worries though, because I watch the Japanese version (US version sucks ass). However, me being the impatient bastard that I am, I'll probably import the rest of the series and watch it at my leisure rather than wait for them to release it all here!

Since the day this came in the mail, it is my official driving music! Now I drive my Sentra (real life car) like it's a Skyline (car I wish I had).

Don't mean to stream off topic, but after getting into Inital D, I wouldn't mind having an 86 Corolla in real life.

Pfff, I needs no shirt. Sure, the weather of Canadia is something you need to get used to it, but hey, I'm Canadian after all! Hail to cold weather and races in teh snow! There should be snow in Initial D, that'd be cool

Yes Hail to the cold british weather, I love the cold. Oh, I've only seen the whole Japanese series, since I'm british, I believe I'd be dead by time anything gets release over here, I still haven't even seen the FIRST SERIES on DVD here. S'up I'd just download it anyway.

I finally get a day off from work, and there is no classes today at my college. So I go to the arcade today, early of course, thinking it was gonna be empty. Well HELL NO, the Initial D cabinet was STILL friggin packed!

So I went to eat lunch, come back, and there was only one guy playing, and he wasn't accepting challenges. Of course.

Anyhow, I take advantage to catch up on Legend Of The Streets (I've barely started it.) And wouldn't you know it, I could NOT beat Sid and that piece of $#|+ Suzuki Cappuchino! I mean, gimmie a break, who the fuq names a car after a flavor of coffee?

Anyhow, that little red piece of crap takes corners like an old man takes prunes. After four tries, aka $4, I gave up and did Time Attack.

I'll get you yet Sid, you and your Crappuchino!

Man, odn`t worry about that, well, not being able to defeat the Cappuccino is what made me quite this game, expecially after analizing all of the engine behavior in that specific track, after about a lap, the RPM of your car (whatever it is) will suck ass and you will be stuck riding in 4th gear if you want some high RPM, and you can barelly get to 150!!! that`s a real joke, I mean, what's the funk with that track? There really is some tweaking done to the opponent's car, and your car is being downgraded for that track, I mean I have proofs of this, I've seen many players being ditched by that funker that after a while it's easy to see that the arcade is cheating on you ... that day my passion for Initial D ver2 died ... gah hope you will still like the game ^^;;
