Very nice work thus far on the helecopter Cobbi

The background is kinda problematic, but it works great from a distance. The main problem areas I see are the blades of grass being quite high, therefor making it look like things are floatin'. And then the shadows are also somewhat floating. I'm sure you're already aware of that, but I'm just being nitpickey :3 *hides*

One suggestion on fixing it perhaps is taking the render into photoshop and put a few blades of grass infront of the tire, or the pilots' feet. Might help the illusion of 3D on photo better.

Yes you being nitpickey !!! But I know what you mean. I tried to do it before I rendered the pics by trying to put a Displacement map in it but the instructor left so I couldnt ask him for a better way to do it. If I put the Displacement map it'll look like their feet and copter's tires are in between the grass, but it wont look like the grass is out, more like they are sunk in the poly that simulates the floor for shadows.

About the photoshop, its a good idea if it wasnt that I hate photoshop. Sooooo Im trying to have a better option before doing that one.

Looks pretty cool. I'll agree that the feet could sink into the ground a little more, but it's nice to see some of the creations trying to set foot out into a (quasi)real world.

Great work just wait until they let u animate just remember b4 u start your 2nd image use layers its much easier that way 4 tha color consistanty

Well, Im kinda excited about this, but Im working on a spaceraft that will be submitted to be to the show Battlestar Galactica, or something like that. Im not sure... I think is Battlestar or Battleship... I know it has to do with Galactica. Anyway, they are looking for background ships and sent a letter to our school for us to donate if we have some. Whoever is selected will get a Thank you letter saying that the ship was used for the show. So, Im kinda working on that. though the deadline is kinda ridiculous. Apparently the deadline is tomorrow and they gave us this today, so I have to work my ass of tonite, and if its not tomorrow, then its next month, which will give me time to work on my textures better. The modeling is easy !!! Smile

I hope I get it done... !!!

Man, I hope you get the job done in time! As for the Apache, I really like this idea of putting a real-life image as a background. My favorite picture is the 015 one, but there all great!

That's cool Terin. Im thinking of going to a 3DMax clinic tomorrow in Miami, though Im not sure yet.

Anyway, I got more news from the Apache guys and the test pilots Shino and BWS.

We got a 3 second video of them landing the Helicopter in a newly aquired Building in a City near you. The Neopian city is called Xhannet, (pronounced Shanát) and the building was a Bank in that city. Asina just bought it and its begining a big construction to make it a Xhannet Asina Corp HQ and the Asina Apache was in the scene. Anyway, I only got them landing the craft 'cuz I was late, but no matter, its a sweet piece of machinery and it works great !!! Check it out !!!!
