Is not an animated gif, is a jpeg sequence and the school provided it for us, so I have no clue where they got it from.

Sorry I havent been posting here much, but FFXI, school and my gurly asian cutie have all my time at the moment. I havent been progressing much at school since there's a lot of tweaking to do in this project and so many things that have to be done before I have something good to show. An update should be that our instructor filmed a longer and better sequence for us. This new Helipad sequence its a lot more longer and closer so we get to see a lot of detail and flying of the Apache and our test pilots as well. I have a nice idea to add a finishing touch to this project, or at least this part, but Im still a long way from it. I need to render some stuff by tomorrow and Im still trying to make this thing fly properly behind some trees, so it'll be a bit more time until you see a finished revision. Sorry... be asured I am working very hard on this, but it takes a lot of time to make something great !!

Ok guys, I took some time of the vaccum that it is FFXI and decided to finish my work. Here's is the new Apache test flight and this time is more than 3 seconds and we get to see a whole lot more from it !! YAY !!!

Pretty cool, I have to admit. I think you'll like the lightsaber stuff. It's a lot of layer stuff when we photoshop it, but maybe you'll be able to do it with less effort.

Well, another day, another update. Sorry for the late update but I have been going through a lot lately and FFXi does not help at all. Anyway, Ive had this pics I shouldve posted a long time ago, but oh well, I post them now and you get to seel how the magic works.

First of all, the set !!

We start by modeling a set. I chose this one, I dunno why, and I added a little twist to it, Luke Skywalker standing besides the Sith Lord. As we see, I also added 2 scale people standing where I want my actors to stand. Just to meassure and see how the scene will work.

We get our actors. As you see, the actors are dueling behind a green screen. Is my job to clean the green screen and put them in the set.

We use a program called Adobe After Effects, for those who dont know, to make the compositing.

As you see, the actors are there and almost ready. But there's something missing !! Do you notice ??

Of course !!! What's a Jedi duel without lightsabers !!!

We create the beams for the sabers in After Effects as well. After that, we add them on and PRESTO !!!

Well, how neat does it look after its done ??? Hmmm...

did you have to rotoscope the lightsaber effect in by frame, or does After effects have a neat thing that it can use to track something?
