My only problem with the story was you used "Ducks-in-a-row" Analogy and there are no ducks, were-ducks or otherwise, in the underdark.
Also priestesses are clerical and don't use bladed weapons. So she'd either wield a small mace or a whip. Granted SOME females in the underdark wield swords but those are the inept ones that are only guards in Arach-Tilith. But since you said she was a priestess that received spells from Lloth I'm gonna haveta go with the mace since most of their whips are enchanted. |

Except that, in betraying Lolth, she had to ditch the whip or be killed. So she found a dirk in the armory before she left. Remember, it -does- mention she hasn't much of a clue how to use it. |

Got a point but why not stick with the mace? And this is part 2 right? I needs me some part 1 so I can work this all out. |

I don't remember them all being proficient with a mace...I thought most of the Clerics of Lolth just used their whips. S'why I didn't think of that.
Maybe she dropped it.  that sounds like a Shandi thing to do.

Aha! ^_^ I thought I'd remembered at least one of the Drow priestesses using a small bladed weapon during some point of the Drizzt et pals vs. Matron Baenre and her cronies fight... |

But they only used the blade for a sacrifice, removing organs is much easier when they're not slammed into one another. Like I said SOME females used bladed weapons but devout priestesses of Lloth, and up until a couple weeks ago (Just guessing), Shan was a Lloth Devotee.
