This isn't meant as a personal attack at anyone, but the EN population as a whole.

Now, I understand FFXI is a new game, I understand that people are still getting aquainted with it, but the economy is really going through a lot of sh*t right now because so many people are dying.

Most people don't recognize at first that every time they die, it scores one point for the Beastmen in that area. Nations gain points in conquest by killing monsters with Signet cast on them. Now, whichever nation has the most conquest points on Sunday when the conquest is tallied, they win that region. Whoever has the most regions under their control are 1st place, then there's 2nd place and 3rd place. However if Beastmen have more points than any country, they gain control.

I'd like to point out that before the EN version was released, at any given conquest update, atleast one nation owned every spot on the map. The only exception to this was Altepa and Yuhtunga because people were using em to diezone in (die with a low level job to go back to homepoint.) But they fixed that with a patch so jobs under level 5 don't count towards conquest.

Upon the EN release, before the patch, the first areas to go were the starter areas. You cannot claim crystals in areas under beastmen control, and so people starting out had money problems and started to beg. The price of crystals rose. The patch was implemented and people gained control of those regions again.

Then people started getting higher leveled, and the next place to go was the Kolshushu region, which contains Buburimu Peninsula, Tahrongi Canyon and a high-level spot Onzozo Labrynth. For 2-3 weeks now it's been under beastman control, and no nation has gained even a rising control in the area. This is not a good thing. Two very important recepies for cooks to make require ingredients that come from this region. As level 36 chef, I can say that it is stupidly expensive to make the most common food now. The first is Meat Mithkabobs, which need Mhaura Garlic. Countries that own Buburimu sell this in shops, but since no one owns it, you cannot buy this ingredient. Only people who stocked up on it have it, and are selling it at prices exceeding 800gil per clove. In shops I doubt it would be over 200gil each. The other recepie is Yagudo Drinks. These required, yeah, Buburimu Grapes. Another item sold from this region. Normally drinks are around 1k a bottle. Now they are going for 3,500 gil because the grapes are so rare. No one will pay that price for a drink, but that's how the economy crumbles.

Now normally I would hope that things get better as people get to know the game, but apperantly this is not the case. As of this morning, the week's conquest results are in. Now not only the Kolshushu region is under beastman control, but also the Aragoneu (Sauromugue Champaign, Garlaige Citidel, Oztroja, Meriphataud), Qufim, Norvallen (Jugner, Davoi, Batallia, Eldieme), Elshimo Lowlands (Kazham, Yugtunga, Norg), and Elshimo Uplands (Yhoator, Ifrit's Cauldron, Uggalepih) are ALL under beastman control.

It's not a good thing, I'm not blaming anyone, it's just an issue with the FFXI economy, and the only way to fix it is to stay safe while traveling, always have Signet on when hunting, and perhaps do a few conquest quests to help bolster your nation's economy. It's all an ecosystem, whatever one person does affects everyone. Just keep that in mind Cobbi

Well, Ive noticed that a lot of n00bs go to ERon to level rather than WRon, which for me is a good thing, since I travel a lot, is nice to have that hmp and signet guy on the entrance of LeTheine Plateu. Though I must say that beastmen suck !!! Maybe we should form a group and start getting those areas back to San, because San kicks ass !!!!

And Terin, you can get the Signet at the gate in San before going out hunting. Just talk to the guys that have "TK" on their names and ask them to give you the Signet. That thing helps your country to conquest areas and extracts crystals from the monsters. So always have a Signet on when you hunt, it is crucial... unless you're planning on dying a lot :\
