Once upon a time I was pure within,
Now I have fallen, covered in sin,
How can it be that I'm alone,
This place once felt so much like home.
I'm sorry you were hurt by my affliction,
And by the recoil of my deadly addiction,
So many things I know I should have done,
I'm sorry that you had to be the one.
You didn't deserve what you ultimately got,
Somehow I seemed to have forgot,
What an angel you really were born to be,
You revealed it all so plainly to me.
And now I'm lost with so little time,
Bent up like a morbid nursery rhyme,
So many things are now falling away,
But it is such a little price to have to pay.
