I love having an Arena Football team in my town. I never have to be without football. SuperBowl is on Feb 1st, first game of Arena football is on Feb 8. Arena season is over in Aug. Sept, NFL starts back up.
Oh yeah that's what I'm talking about.
The Georgia Force (G-Force) start up their second season in Gwinette (an Atlanta Suburb) next month. And Toolman and I got Season Tickets!!!
Not only that, but our seats are in the end zone section, second row from the field. We have Row D! So when I asked how many rows back Row D was, he said "2 rows back, where Row A and B would be... That's where the cheerleaders perform,"
Dood! Arena football, second row, cheerleaders right in front of you... how do you beat that. OK NFL with the same specs, but we can't get that right now can we.

Say what? LA went 11-5 last year and went to the playoffs. Beats the GForce. They went 8-8. Hopefully they will do better this year.
Should be interesting. I'm all about the high scoringness of the AFL |

Ya know, 've watched Arena ball, and it's a lot like Canadian ball, just with a shorter field. Anyone else see the similarities? |

A few of the things I think is cool about the AFL
1) NO PUNTING!
2) Missed field goals and conversions after touchdown can be run back
3) 6 of the 8 men on each time are playing Ironman football
4) Very high scoring! (I think the record for most points scored is like 120something.
Good stuff.
Maybe I will bring my camera to a game and take some pictures for you guys if they let me. |

Yeah man, give it a shot. Last year was the GForce's first season in GA and it was only their second season as a Team. They went 8-8 which was some how good enough to get them into the playoffs.
I need to see how the playoff picture works in the AFL. Anyway, appearently the owner (whoever that may be) has fronted some cash to pick up former NFL players as well as other things.
I'm really looking forward to this b/c in some players of the NFL, there are still traces of "I'm not going to hit hard b/c I don't want to get hurt and lose my fat ass pay check" syndrome. Nothing makes a game like two teams that hit hard. (as long as the don't get hurt)
In the AFL, the players don't have as fat a paycheck and tend to play with more heart. Not on all occasions, but some.
There is going to be a mini movie playing in Regal theatres with John Elway and John Bon Jovi who are both AFL team owners.

Sounds like your'e sold on Arena ball.
I suppose it's natural, since a lot of people just want to see lots of scoring giong on, that Arena ball would take off. Besides, it provides an off-season thing to watch. |
