Ok, this looks like the best place to post this (Pixel's nor Polygons, but gaming all the same)
Does anyone else play this? It's a great alternative if your sick of the D20 system or if the D20 system is too complex. I have only one question: What is the Combat YoYo good for?? Anyway, I'l post the site in the appropriate thread Look, AZ, I can be taught!

A combat Yo-yo? If you play Smash Brothers, and enjoy using Ness as a character, a combat yo-yo is invaluable. Of course, then you're also carrying a Louisville Slugger, but hey...
...or if you remember an old game galled Willy Beamish, a combat yo-yo there turns out to be important, too. |

yeah, but in BESM, it's damage rating is at 0. it's a little confusing. A yoyo was also handy in Zoolander. "Taste my pain, b*tch!"

I play in a BESM game on the side of my normal sunday 3rd ed game. We bought the book and frankly found the system to be wildly broad and outright vauge in some respects. However, in some ways its very useful and I think that the bESM gods did a good job in combining white wolf and d20 into a single system, even if it was a hack job, it was a comendable hack job.
Im interested in PBeM play, if you were looking into that field. I havn't been in a PBeM in so long...I miss the eager anticipation of seeing if all my players responded or if the new update was out. Anyway, Im in for DMing or playing if thats something you wanna get into. |

I don't see any relation between BESM and D20. I think it's more towards WW, especially with it's CHaracter creation system. Anyway, I'm building a Feudal Japan/Old west campaign called "Wakizashi of the West" and I'm having fun, so it's more than just a hack job to me. I've never heard of PBeM. |

You should clarify that BESM Stands for "Big Eyes Small Mouth"
And I'm glad you can be taught Terin...And yer right...I have NO idea where this thread would ACTUALLY...Looks like the Admins didn't consider Table-top gaming..For-shame!
Also, never played BESM...Only RPG I've ever been deep into is Earthdawn.

Hmm...! Oh, I see where the misconception is. The bESM gentlemen made a special hard cover d20 system hybrid. I had forgetten there was the original bESM system that is very white wolf, yes.
Never head of PBeM! I weep for the future, Gary Gynax!! Seriously, PBeM stands for Play By e-Mail, an archeaic counding, but rewarding style of RPG playing that can span some time, but makes for a interesting hobby on the side. Players usually only have to take a few minutes to post their turn and DMs less than teen to compile the turn and write the new event. I've had a handful of successfull ones in the past, but since we're working on differnet systems I don't think it would be plausible ^_^
WotC rippe someone off!? *grin* Who'd a thunked. But really I've never heard of the system - chare any good links or better yet old game stories? |

This place looks like a good resource for Earthdawn..With the game no longer *Officially* existing and Fasa being bought out the games kinda dying n'stuff |

I've had a whack at Tri-Stat. It works much like the other types, without many of the specialized dice thing going on.
And it's a variable-world system... you can hack almost anything to fit it, which is nice.
As for the combat yo-yo, maybe it's got a switch on it that gives it an actual damage modifier or something. |
