Demon angel

This is going to sound daunting, but for all of you who are currently or have been involved in a Role playing thread, (be it finished or unfinished at this point) I need your help.

Presently, the staff is attempting to catalouge all known geographic locales, features, and countries. The current idea would be that if it showed up in an RP thread, then it now exists. That means that if you're PO was helping to treck across a desert, visited a port somewhere in Miniopia, or has a monastary or home somewhere in a mountain range, TELL US HERE AND NOW! We have a cut off date of the beginning or March, so it's imperative we get going on this.

For my part, I'll be reading as many RP's as possible, and making note of what locations need to be made note of. But I am only human and could miss something. Please help us out here, and take it upon yourself. Post in this thread, or PM me with your lists. I'll be sorting it and making a tally of the locations.

Thank you all, and I'll be posting an example to follow.

Demon angel

Here's the promised example, and an idea of what I need

Kamchaka: A tiny island nation in the southern Oceans of Miniopia, located along what would be considered an equatorial line and in a large grouping of small volcanic islands. Kamchaka was ripped apart by civil war several years back, orchestrated by the deposed monarch of Vergeltuungen in a bid for greater poewr.

Vergeltuungen: Once an oppresive monarchy ruled this northern country with an iron fist. Until 30 years ago when Vergeltungen Revolutionaries incited open war to free the people of this snowy land. Now, the Free Social Republic of Vergeltuungen experiments with representative rule and continued social unrest. It is supposed that Chaos Emmisaries helped to begin the revolution as a means to spreading radical ideas to neighboring states.

Javist: A trading town not far south from Miniopia proper (area of the wench, Asina, etc) and a vital town to trading in the area. Javist sits on a major river named Falcis, which is fed by northern run offs and splits to feed the western and eastern oceans. Javist is located at that fork, making it a blend of merchants, travelers, tradesman, and lowlifes. Javist has always remained off limits to any kingdom to claim as it's own, but was recently devastated by Kirahaad and Ulovia.

Tarant Mount: Chaos shrine buried deep in the northern mountain ranges. Tarant Mount is one of the two known Chaos portals in Miniopia, and so is very dangerous indeed.

I still need, that I know of:

1. White City
2. Black Forest
3. Norwind
4. Ryltar
5. Gon
.
.
.
And anything else you can think of

Laughing
I've got too many for my own good, really. Let me see....

Sea of Trees- Vast Forest to the near west that was, at one time, corrupted by the evil mage and was the Black Forest, but has since changed back.

Peaks of Fire- A large mountain range where the Fire Clan lives. It swings from the south to the east.

Plains of Light- Distant plains to the west where the Light Clan lives.

Thunder Shrine- Sacred Temple to the Fallen God Wyv near the western coast.

Gate to the Sea- The ancient entrance to the City of the Currents, which itself is situated at the deepest point of the western sea. The Gate itself is on the western coast, north of the Shrine.

Path to the Sky- The tallest mountain in the world, it has the only known terrestrial gate to the Sky Realm. It lies north-northeast.

Black Tundra- Home of the Dark Clan, it lies to the northwest.

Sands of Time- A desert that lies across the Peaks of Fire to the east. It is the home of the Loyalist Faction of the Time Elementals.

Tempus Ermi Jur- The city of the Hidden Faction of the Time Elementals. It lies deep in the heart of the western continent, across the western sea.

Sky Realm- The home of the Wind Clan. It consists cities and outposts that sit on clouds, so it's, um, up.

Omi Hubris- A single small island that lies in the north of the eastern sea. No one but the Dragons know what lies on this small island, nor can any but the Chosen go there.

Grove of the Summer Tree- The oldest place on Terra, the Summer Tree, the first of all creation, resides there. It is a sacred place closely guarded by deep magic. It lies to the southeast.

All locations named are relative to Miniopia City where all the places in the Village Square are. Lews knows about the Western Continent much better than I, so I'll let him take that one. Hope this helps, Pot!

woah...i thought i had lots of info...

Gon: a large port town surrounding the ruins of a destroyed magic academy. The destructor (We all know him...unfortunately Very Happy ) was a very VERY powerful mage. As of now, it serves as a large port town, recieving most of the imports and exports from the western continent. It is located on the West of the main land (By the way, Lews may have more info on it.)

Puerto Pequeno: i dont know much, but i think i could pump noggy for some info. Just give me some time, or i'll have him tell ya.

THats all i have as of now. I'll keep in touch.

That is all

Does it require the locations to be in the current timeline? Much of my scenery lies scattered through time.
There is only one location in the present that is in this timeline that i know of.

Twilight Forest: (No time affiliation)
The forest is a nexus of time. It exists only to those who require it's shelter. Imagine a mirage you could touch and feel and could dissapear into. (think pocket dimension). It is very difficult to separate day from night almost as if it's in Eternal Twilight.

Sunset Station: (No time affiliation)
Exists in orbit outside the planet. The station is the HQ for the Inter-time Police which is an agency devoted to the protection of the time stream.

Leo's Colliseum: (Past)
A roman style arena devoted to barbarian fights and tournaments.

Shade Castle: (Possible Future)
A floating castle that exists on the outskirts of Twilight Forest. It's power comes from the dark energy of it's master who is a shadow king.

Raven Coalwing's Laboratory: (Present)
A gigantic lab filled with tables and tables of inventions and ancient gadgets. Plenty of books and what not clutter the lab. Exists a short distance away from the kilted wench.

thats all i can think of atm

Corruption forest- South of Miniopia and has a red lake. this forest is deadly and should be avoided if possible but s the only way to reach the red lake.

Lake of Vergin Blood- is in the middle of the corruption forest the lake is soaked in the blood of the vergins and has stained the water causing the drinkers to go mad and kill any and all things, lost souls gather there to feed off of the blood and bodys and many powerful demons bathe at least once for power that is stated in the legends.

first and last gate of hell- south east of miniopia,is in a Mt and can only be reached by the two gate keepers.

thats all i have..

La'Runior, capitol city of the Kingdom of Runior. It has been undisturbed by outside invasion for forty years, so its army is small, as well as the kingdom itself. The actual kingdom is, in truth, just La'Runior and two child towns, Neren, the Male town, and Kayren, the Female town. They are so named because in Neren, the males control the government and focus on the military. In Kayren, females run everything, and though the military is small, Kayren's trade is unparalelled by Neren or La'Runior itself.

The Kingdom of Runior is close to the desert where the Jagganoth was slain by Demonic and Diablo.

Correction, Tobs, the Thaumaturgical Academy of Gon was not destroyed. It was moved to Norwind. The buildings that comprised the campus were either torn down to make room for other buildings or reused for other purposes.

Western Continent, and far north:

Norwind: Current capitol of the western continent. Also houses the Thaumaturgical Academy of Norwind (Formerly of Gon). Current rulers are of the Foraillo line and have been in power for much of Norwind's History. The Prince and Heir was killed (read: will be, if we ever finish the Who Knows What's In Store thread...Hint Hint.)

Gon: Large port town on the northern coast of the western continent. Was once the Capitol and home of the TA of Gon (now of Norwind). Most ships to Ryltar leave from here.

Mayra: Miniscule town that no longer exists. Destroyed something like ten or twelve years ago during the reign of the Dreadlords. Lews Therin's hometown and Damion's birthplace.

Ryltar: The far northern continent. Entirely occupied by one country, conveniently named Ryltar. Society and people, though mostly rich, are highly interested in money, moreso than citizens of the more southern regions (read: everywhere else).

Tylan: Capitol city and main port of Ryltar. Architecture is unique: Houses build on shops build on houses and so on. There is little horizontal room to expand, the continent being mostly either mountains or ice, so the citizens decided to go up instead. The Palace is famous for its opulence and magnificence.

hmmm...
Now to make some stuff up on the spot...

Three city/towns on an entire continent is ridiculous, don't you agree?

Therefore:

Axehead: Mountain range just inland of the southern coast of the continent. Named for a particular peak which resembles said object. At the top of Axehead there is a small town which, because of its remote location, has mostly escaped the ravages of humanity over time: The Dreadlords, the TA recruitment parties, and so on and so forth. Their magical potential is unknown, but rumored to be very high.

Eguinomorenorinashushtika: A southern port of the western continent. Inaccessable by land because it is surrounded on three sides by the Axehead range. Its people have odd ways, and most outsiders just call the place Eggs.

The Labyrinth: Great labyrinth hollowed out of the rock beneath the ocean floor. Has two exits. One of unknown location on the eastern half of the western continent, the other of unknown location on the western half of the miniopian continent. Built thousands of years ago by Mages of unbelievable power to use as battle ground, so that the land above would remain unharmed. Also was used as a prison. Coutless millions were lost in its depths. Though it contained no traps or pitfalls, its sheer mind-boggling vastness was always enough to trap those sent there for ever. The Labyrinth has long been forgotten by people of recent generations, and it is unknown what may now be living, or not, within its halls.

Mandrel: Abandoned city located just inland of the eastern coast. Has many nicknames, which should explain the city very well: City of the Dead, Dead City, and so on in that general vein. There is one old one which persists, however, which no one quite understands anymore. Entrada do Mordre.

Other stuff:
The Maelstrom: Vast, self-sustaining typhoon that covers much of the ocean to the west of the western continent. Always raining, and always has whirlspouts sucking water up into the air. Deemed unnavigable by sailors.

I'll think up more later... I hope this helps, Rev!

The Bombshell Palace:

In the past, it was a great and majestic place, full of pearly-white buildings and incredible warriors. The city in its entirety spanned four miles, granting it a touch of legendary status in the days when cities weren't quite so big. Those were the days of its first ruler, Emperor Bombshell Torak I.

Somewhat recently, Emperor Bombshell Torak XXXVIII passed away, and it took all of one year for the place to collapse. The Emperor had no children, and so his legacy ended. The people, none of whom knew how to rule, and none of whom were willing to try--for the Kingdom of Bombshell, comprised of that single city, was rather rowdy--and so they all left, bringing with them the tales of red-haired blade wielders, of Priests of Mod wielding shining maces, of towers in the sky and of gigantic creatures called Imeirons that ate magic.

Of course, few people believe them, for the Kingdom of Bombshell wasn't very welcoming to outsiders who weren't fighters, and the collosseum was the place's main focus, offering a variety of matches--including Trap Matches, home of the feared Guillotine Trap, and Team Battles, the area of expertise where the infamous Challenge of Lews Therin was held.

Few remember where the Bombshell Palace lay, and few care to, though it is said that spirits haunt the woods around the ruins of the great city, and tales of fearsome twin beings in the northlands, calling themselves Gemini, drive off any who would come too close to the ruined buildings...

For, inside that place, a fearsome spirit plans his return to power.
