I just got an E-Mail from Yahoo Support telling me about spam going out of my address via a worm or something, possibly. However, I noticed a few things:
1) That can't happen since I'm on a web-based mail.
2) The Return Path was an address at Juno.com
3) I was given a .PIF attachment as document "telling me how to get rid of possible viruses on my E-Mail."
So if you get anything from support, check it twice! |

*nod* I've run into those sorts of things in the past. Anything Yahoo sends you should be colored differently (like it's 'highlighted') and has the official little yahoo "Y!" thing out to the left side of it. Be safe! |

Sonuds like that's another variant of the virus that's been running around the 'net. It likes to spoof addresses and give attachments as preventative tools against "viruses". The attachment is the virus.
So don't open those kinds of mails unless you're absolutely sure it came from the right authority source, and even then, call them once just to make sure. Whomever wrote this one's going to spend a very long time down in Hell. |
