Isn't Shadowfax white in the book, too? I could be wrong, though.

Actually, Shadowfax was a silver color. Certainly not white. I mean, the name says it all. A horse called SHADOWfax would NOT be white! That's just a given.

as if you needed me to tell you that. it was everything i expected, a lot i had forgotten about, and done better than perfect in nearly every way.

my copies of the books are up at school, so maybe someone else can answer me several questions. these are mostly minor points but in case you're still reading the books or haven't seen the movie yet (you poor, tortured soul):

POTENTIAL SPOILER ALTERT! read no further!

1) when the Gondorian patrol from Osgiliath captures Frodo, Sam, and Gollum, i didn't think they actually took them back to Osgiliath before letting them go; Faramir wasn't so anxious to have the ring as he is in the movie, so everything in the cave took place and then they just left from there. is that correct?

2) the question of shadowfax' color. i thought it was white, too.

3) how did the Ents actually decide to fight against Saruman? i thought the Entmoot ended with the decision to fight, but i also remember that Treebeard had to see the destruction at Isengard before the Ents agreed to help. what was the original order of that sequence?

4) what was up with the orcs using dynamite against Helm's Deep? that seemed ridiculous and unnecessary, like they just wanted an excuse for a large explosion.

regardless of whether or not Jackson changed any of these things significantly from the book, Two Towers was simply unbelievable. i'm definitely going back before the weekend's over.

No, Shadowfax was black but when he moved it was so fast that it was almost magical and his coat would get a silvered sheen. But standing still he was pure black like the purest black where you weren't sure where he was exactly cause the blackness almost absorbed light.

Well, at least I think that's how it is....I read the book like 6 months ago so I'm almost positive...Aww crap...Don't make me read book 2 again.... It was hard the first time...Soooooooo muuuuuuuch description... It was like a Terry Goodkind book with 100 more words per paragraph. I love Goodkind but he can get longwinded. And I love Tolkien but they needs to make a less descriptive book...But only for people who already read the books so when they re-read them they don't get bogged down.
