Listen. I would have to agree with Reaper on this one. I would say stay in school no matter what your motivational needs are. All you have to do is stay focused. But as I pointed out in one of my previous posts, people have a tendancy not to listen to me. So this is what I purpose.
You have your options in the right order, so follow the numbers. Talk to your parents, see if they will take you in. At the very least it will buy you a little time.
If that falls through or even if one of them will take you in, call around, look for aptments and a better job in your local area. Maybe talk to some friends and see if they want to move into an aptment with you. It is best to stay around the places you know when trying to start off on your own. Then when can stand on your own two feet with no ones help, move on to the big city.
But if all else fails, start looking for places in Atlanta. Look in the classifieds, there may be someone with an apartment that is looking for a roomate. Get a resume together and post it on job websites for the Atlanta area. What is it, Monster.com or something that is a huge job hunting website?
However it turns out I wish you the best of luck. But I can not stress enough that there will be a point in your life that you will wish you had stayed in school, and put forth that extra effort.
Peace Out! |

For your comments about school, I direct you to my reply to Ming's post, and I stress the word can't. Yes, it's all about focus. I haven't found my focus. Not for that, anyway. I'd go into detail about it, but I'm not sure any of you would understand, and I'm too tired in any case. Regardless, just accept the fact that school has proven itself to be temporarily unattainable.
I thank you all for what advice has been given. But don't stop now! I'm still undecided as of now...
Faye, your advice is golden, and perfectly accurate and true. Could I follow it, I would. Just so you know that it's not a case of not listening. |

Come ot Chicago brother!
K seriously though...the whole school thing is dumb. I think you need to find your way to stop going to school. Lack of motivation is just going to make it harder to go to school later in life. You'll learn to hate it even more. It's true that 120 a week isn't gonna be enough for food and living.
Honestly I would probably say live with a parent....but are you going to be ok with that?

I hate to be the negitive nancy here, but you dont have to go to school. Especially not right now.
Lot of poeple come right out of high school and say "I HAVE to go to college right now!". Its like it wont be there in six or seven year when you've gotten yourself stabilized and able to manage things on your own. I graduated high school in 2001 and Im juut now appling for a FAFSA grant to do some night courses.
And even considering all of that if you find something amiable in the mean time that you dont mind doing, just do that for the rest for your life. Theres no shame in leading a small, quiet exsistance - you dont have to be a doctor, lawyer, etc. so on and so forth. By all means, I suggest finding a job and staying out of school, at least for the tiem being. School may be harder to do later on, but especially in your situation, you need a place to sleep, food to eat, etc. Get your everyday shit figured out first, and deal with school later on as you please. Be it where you live, Atlanta, or wheverever. |

Well if you have gotten to the point to where School is completely out of the picture..... F*ck it. Daijaga is right, you dont HAVE to go to school now, and to be perfectly honest you dont HAVE to go to school period. Do whatever you need to and when you get to the point that you WANT to go back to school, do it.
As for what to do now.... As much as I hate living with my mom, that is he best place for me now, and it would prolly be the best place for you, until you get back onto your feet. As long as you can stand you parents, and since you dont have to worry about school, then maybe you could get a second job. That way you could save money and eventually move away from you parents. In my opinion that would be the best course of action.
Peace Out!! |

Update: After talking about this with my grandmother, I am now searching frantically for other part time jobs in the area. If I'm working full time, I can still live here.
Hmm...I'm still thinking about moving to GA, though, albeit not till after AWA.
The reason: PO. Like it or not, and sad though it may seem, PO is pretty much my life right now. |

-scratches head-
WHY DO YOU NEVER EXPLAIN THESE THINGS IN DETAIL TO ME?
I mean, hell, you were talking to me last night.
You know I'd put you up in my basement if it weren't for my parents. I personally don't know of any out-of-highschool full-time jobs. |
