It depends on your skill level and what kind of pad you are using.
I'm better on the controller than I am on the pad but I can still AA 7 and 8 foot songs on metal pads.
I have the Red Octane Ignition 2.0 pad and I have problems AAing songs that I could at the arcade but I can easily AA them with a controller.
If you are a newbie in general I suggest purchasing a cheap $20 pad to begin on and if you get a passion for a game then buy the ignition 2.0 pad or red octane's metal pad or even a Cobalt Flux pad. I could rip apart one of those $20 pads in a day. |

Exactly what Im saying, you really cant get a feel for the game on sofies. Better still is if you have an arcade near by, spend the 20$ on credits and get a feel for the game as it was ment to be played, on hard mounted floor sets with bass and flashign lights and so on. |
