I ended up prefering Rath, the Nomad and finally Nomad Trooper for the end of the game. the ability have a bow user use a sword is incredibly helpful

Yeah, but I'm not far enough to have Rath again. And I already used Orion's Bolt... Do you get another?

You can get enough upgrade items to theoretically upgrade every character you come across. Just remember that any job tops out at level 20, so holding off upgrading till then really helps

Okay... But there aren't any random encounters or anything. So leveling up is really a scripted-battle-only thing.

The best way I can say to do it, would be to have mid level characters do the major fighting, and when the opponent is about to die, get a weak or fragile character over to kill them. Then they get the lion's share of the exp. Also, in levels where more bad guys continue to enter turn after turn, take longer to complete the goals so as to get more baddies to kill

Heh, too late now. My weak characters are weak whereas my strong characters are powerful. I'm going to start a new game and try not to lose Sain and Florina again.

If you can spare it, get Florina rather powerful early on, she'll be quite worth it
