Well said Sperrit, and not all films are just about making money, and to be honest what with films seeming to be longer now, it feels like you get your $9 worth. I was still entertained by Troy, just felt that they chose to entertain at the expense of an already entertaining story

Oh MAN, so much was wrong with this movie.
See, let me give you all a little back story:
Me and a friend wanted to see Shrek 2. It had already been out for a while, but, needless to say, by the time we wanted to watch it, the showing was sold out. Now, neither of us wanted to pay the after-matinee prices(dude, I ONLY had $5.50 on me- exact matinee monies), so we decided to watch another movie. Now, I [wanted to watch Mean Girls because it MIGHT have been funny, but she wanted to watch Troy because it has Brad Pitt in a man-skirt. I hope I NEVER, EVER date a woman who will be attracted to a movie only because it has a guy in a man-skirt in it.
So anywho. I didn't want to argue, so we watched Troy.
I had big expectations for the movie when it first started off.
...it was the WORST soft-core porn/fetish film I've ever seen. For one, as many have expressed, Brad Pitt is NOT Achilles. It's like John Leguizamo(sp?) playing Luigi, or Shaquille O'Neal in ANY movie, it CAN be done, but who WANTS it to be done?
The accents were annoying...and the damn thing TRUDGED ON. Not because it was a particularly long movie(I mean, after you watch any of the LotR series, you kinda get used to long-ass movies), but because it was boring.
NOTHING was funny in the movie. Usually I find SOMETHING to laugh at- especially in a war film. And I dunno...I was expecting the movie to be more "MYTHICAL", with powers and stuff. Instead it was a crappy, long-ass love-story disguised as a war movie disguised as a fetish film disguised as Historical movie thing. Kinda like eating a gobstopper where every layer after the first layer(we'll assume grape flavored for no reason) introduces you to a knew flavor of animal feces and foot.

And what did I learn in the end?
This is the third time I've let a pretty face talk me into watching a crappy movie(that one with Sylvester Stallone as a formula-car racer(?) and then I forget the other...OH! Four Feathers, right.). So from here on out, I will do the deciding on what movie me and whoever watches.
...Troy indeed. More like... "TROY TOO HARD", or..."DES'TROY' the damn movie", or or or "TROY and watch this movie without sleeping", HAHAHAHAHA!
Seriously. Waste of three hours of my life or something.
