Unfortunately I can't offer much to the depth of this discussion. All traditional sides have been presented as well as possible and anything that I think I could add would merely be like pilling more on for the sake of a bigger pile, which I think is ridiculous.
However, I would like to say this: The fact that we have a 'Bush' and a 'Kerry' and all of the players in this insane game comes as no surprize to me. Daily I hear people being shocked and expressing outrage at what has been happening here and over in the middle east and elsewhere in the world, but they come as no surprize to me, nor, do I believe, would they be shocking to anyone who began to analyse the system and culture that we happen to find ourselves in. As far as I'm concerned, the politicians of the day aren't causing the problem, they are merely symptoms of a greater falacy, one that reaches to the very depths of our entire world society.
If there are any of you out there that feel like me, that something is INHERENTLY WRONG with the way that the world is being managed, that a darker nature lurks under the surface of our culture, that capitalism, when looked at in it's base theory, shouldn't work, then I urge you to read a book called Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Perhaps then you'll know why you feel that way.
My only hope for the upcoming election is that whoever ends up sitting in the oval office will have some inkling as to where we're REALLY going culturally, and accept it as the natural course of history.

Your right sperit, capitalism is fundamentally wrong. The reason is it is a system based on greed. Which is why we as the people of America are considered a faceless mass, and big business is destroying our planet. After all why worry about the planet when there is a buck to be made? Or why worry about a worker dying when there will always be another to replace him? Corruption and greed have infiltrated every facet of our lives and it’s quite sad really.
But any way have any of you naysayers actually gone and seen this movie yet? I am not saying it’s the best movie ever made, far from it. But the majority of it is based on public record facts, like bush's response when he heard about the first plane hitting was to go ahead with his photo op. And that he has spent the most days of any president on vacation as opposed to I don’t know maybe running the country. It's worth the ticket price. |

Well, truth be told with the vacation thing, that includes weekends and a 'working vacation' on the ranch in crawford. Not that I think it is wrong for a president to keep himself calm and relaxed (part of the reason why Bubba getting a hummer did not seem so bad to me) but the biggest thing that some people are the most upset about is that you don't want to be taking vacations when you've just become president, it was under fishy circumstances at that, and you need to look like you are getting things done.
And in my opinion, this movie was best for viewing the footage from the war in Iraq that our 'liberal media' (if you even buy that anymore) did not show us. Much like the Mi Lai photos, it is work that alone. |

This movie has already been picked apart to shreds... Michael Moore lied on about 75% of everything he did.
And what's REALLY funny is people blame Bush for things when in his campaign the Republicans TOLD you he was NOT an intelligent man the Republicans TOLD you he was the average joe six-pack. And all you rat bastard liberals sit in your f'ing ivory towers and say, "If *I* was president *I* would have done this."
Does ANYONE realize how EASY it is to say you'd do one thing one way 2 YEARS after it happened?
Why doesn't anyone say that George Bush continued to listen to childrens stories because he himself is human and was scared shitless? Or even maybe he was REALLY brave and didn't want to worry the children by running out of there with secret service in tow.
It makes me sick when people question decisions that happend YEARS ago.
I bet some of you liberals out there think Bombing Japan in WW2 was wrong even though it was the only way at the time to end the war...Does anyone remember Midway Island or the Guadal Canal? Where wave after wave of marines gave their lives to secure a measly mile long strip of land?
Just remember 9/11..REMEMBER it remember what you were doing when you saw those buildings ablaze..Did you cry? Did you punch a wall? Did you call all your family and tell them you loved them "Just in case?" Or did you snap to and make split timing descisions about what you were gonna do to help fix yourself and your community? Many young men joined the military that week to fight an evil power...Many young men also stood up and said we deserved it... Some fought and died bravely...Some instead of mourning their deaths BLAMED them on someone that had NO saying in their lifes decision. |

This movie shed the truth on so many things. Moore hit home the hardest in the last 30 mins. Those who have none are always the ones who protect what little they have. I was crying. please if you have any heart don't vote for our "War President" |

Exactly. What really needs to happen so as to at least get people to see this movie is an edited version, in which most of the pieces in which Mr Moore does a voice over of are taken out, leaving the film to actually speak for itself |

I agree with Azvega: Hindsight is always 20:20. War is an inevitable part of running a country, and it sounds like this film is villanizing the president. If this film convinces you of anything, it should be about your own lack of understanding or what have you, than that of the president whom we supported. |

The best thing about this movie is that it will guarantee that Bush will be re-elected.
Lemme sum it up for you...When Clinton was running the republicans were thinking, "No one's going to buy this BS the guy has no plan for the future he just panders to everybody." Then he got elected. The second time around the Republicans said, "This guy screwed up ROYAL there's NO WAY anyone would re-elect this retard." Unfortunately they were wrong and the MTV generation bought in to his whole, "I'm cool." tactics.
When Bush won I'm sure more republicans voted but not all because Al Gore is a dink and there was no chance he'd win.
NOW the Democrats are throwing around so much garbage and this movie is scaring Republicans..Not because it's true but because it's nothing but half truths and lies and the naive are buying into it. The Republicans will unite this November and they will keep Bush as president. Kerry has no chance in the election.
The Democrats crossed the line and proceeded to vomit on it and they'll pay for it this November when they lose by a landslide election. |
