Ok, so I get online, and I talk to Ultrawolf, because he's one of the two people who don't outright refuse to talk to me on AIM (), and he's up in arms about something. So I naturally am curious what. Now, better judgement on my part would have been to keep my nose out of trouble, but you all know me better than that. My judgement is just plain horrible. ^_^

Anyway, the story reveals itself:

Ultrawolf: and he continued to egg me on so i hounded him from thread to thread and totally made him look like a jackass in front of everyone
Ultrawolf: I even tried to bury that hatchet at one point but he instead decided to fuel the fire further

Ultrawolf: so i made an alternate account because people were confused and really pissed off at that mod
Ultrawolf: and i explained the whole story and cited all the information into one nice and tidy thread
Ultrawolf: me=permabanned via IP adress now
Ultrawolf: BUT
Ultrawolf: the upside is that EVERYONE is pissed at him now
Ultrawolf: he looks like a major ass

So he gives me a link and tells me to find a forum, and much debate ensues, but basically, here's what went down.

At the end of that thread, as you can see, both parties are angry at eachother, and while it's understandable, I am still not entirely sure how it went from "all in fun" to "fuck your mother". Regardless, that's about what happened. Anyway, from then on much ado was made until finally we reach this point:

Ok. Those of you who actually took the time to open the links and read all the drivel which was contained within, I thank you for your patience.

Now, Ultrawolf is my friend. Naturally, I want to help him feel better. Sounds corny, but oh well. So I tried to explain how I saw it. After some of my typical posturing (Those of you who've had occasion to argue with me before know what I'm talking about) I got to the meat of my point which was that no progress would be made until one party or the other put forward the motion to forgive and forget and stuck to it no matter what the other party said. As far as I can see, and I realize I am not the greatest negotiator ever, that is what has to happen. Since I can't see this Lexan character ever doing that, I propose that Ultrawolf do so instead. This was met with dissapproval and outright refusal, and a short argument ensued, during which it was established that we were both stubborn. No actual progress was made.

Now, you're all wondering by now why I'm bothering to post all this. Ultrawolf thinks I'm wasting my time and that no one will post, and he may be right, but I think it's worth a try. Since he won't do it, but has given me permission, I'm asking for advice on his behalf. How can this situation be resolved?

I'll post because I love everyone, despite my not wanting to post to make lews look like an ass.

GM's reccomendation to forgive or forget, which in my mind means "deal with it", is a very good strategy. Take me and Diablo for example, now I have yet to look at your links, but I'll get on that right away. Me and Diablo could argue to no end with eachother with insults going back and forth. But I generally just let my grudges go and not say anything when he pisses me off, and it tends to make things better.

Another example is my sister. She can be a ranting bitch without anybody starting it (as I'm assuming UW's enemy did) However, if you wack her with a stick while she's bitching, you're going to get into a fight. Not like I've ever hit my sister with a stick (Bokken) while she was bitching -shifty eyes- Anyways, it's a roundabout way of saying, if he's insulting you and people are already hating him, ignore him. He'll do nothing but make himself look like an ass. And if you find the urge to retaliate, do it in a cool "I don't care" manner. Because that always looks awsome.

I'll go look at the links now and maybe write more on it.

Ok, after reading this, I've come to the conclusion that neither of you knew what eachother was doing and you both were still so pissed that when you both tried to cut it short, tiny bits of defending yourselves came out in the same post, leading the other to believe that you wanted to continue fighting.

If you're going to go back to those forums, and he confronts you about it, just don't say anything, act like you never even saw the post/PM. That's what I can recommend, considering most people are on your side.

Both of you took it way out of control, and got personal with each other. The problem can't be solved until both you and Lex can deal with it privately and come to terms with it. I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Plus the way I see, both of you gave each other an out. But unfortunately both of you were too stubborn to take it, and kept going at each other. I think there must have been some prior hostiles before, and then suddenly it erupted in that thread.

I read all that and to be honest I think this isn't as big a deal as it was made to be. Banning you was bullshit but it’s not exactly like either of you were in the right. You should have just lived and let live and got on with your lives.
