All politicians are full of shit. They pander endlessly to the majority, end of story. |

And I would like to point out that Kerry won 3 purple hearts in 4 months and still had time to commit war crimes. When did he sleep? They don't give you a Purple Heart for a minor injury. Has anyone else seen the news about his stories of Cambodia not matching up with his fellow troops? Kerry is just as much a spoiled rich boy as Bush, which I sadly have to admit Bush to being. But I being from Texas and understanding in mind set what Bush did, I like him. I don't like Kerry. While Bush has not kept all of his promises, no president ever does. Bush has done some great things for the country. So be greatful for what you get and not what you didn't. |
There is nothing I can be grateful for with George W. Bush as our president. This man has had little sense of responsibility in his life. And admittedly neither has Kerry, at least as he should have. What frightens me the most is the people who have used Dubya as a prop for their own agendas, very frightening agendas that warp what I hold dear about this country into something from 65 years back |

I just think it is really sad that so few people have faith and patriotic spirit left. I would gladly lay down my life for the country and the leader of it. And that jusnk about him not being the president America 'picked', he's the president the intelligent America picked. If ya can't work that simple little machine, you have not business voting.
And Rev, what is it about Dubya that ticks you off so much? What is it about politics that makes you so mad? |

For one, it was one quarter or less of the population who picked him, so I'm tired of the cynicism that has built up around politics and governments. You'll find Graillik that I would consider myself one of the most patriotic people you've met because I truly believe in the goals and dreams that a handful of enlightened individuals gave us, and that the common man, who in his own right is great, rose to the occasion to secure for us all that we now take for granted. We are a nation founded on the saying
'E Pluribus Unum.' Out of many, one.
What Dubya has done is instead of being a uniter, of working for a more centrist doctrine that would follow the constituitional guidelines set up for us, he's blazenly followed his own radical agenda and flaunted some of the most honored laws we enshrined into our nation. Our elected officials are allowed to be religious, but cannot let their own sectarian views impede them from following the legal course of action. Our elected officials should be trying to capitalize on the deaths of young men and women to gain another few points in the gallup polls.
Finally, I have never, ever seen Dubya recognize the enormity of his (in)actions. I've not seen him come on and air and say "You know, I'm sorry that both my and the previous administration weren't paying as much attention as we should have to terrorism. I'm sorry that I ended up misleading the american public (and if I myself was mislead, I'm sorry I did not hold myself up to a hire standard.)"
So my biggest beef with politics right now, there is no culture of accountability. You screw up, you don't take responsibility. You blame the guy next to you. This is not what our forefathers bled for. This is not what Jefferson, Adams, Washington, Hamilton, or Franklin would have envisioned for us. |

John Kerry and John Edwards.
Quote: | John Edwards, at the Democratic National Convention, said, "Let me talk about why we need to build one America. I saw up close what having two Americas does to our country. From the time I was very young, I saw the ugly face of segregation and discrimination. I saw young African-American kids sent upstairs in movie theaters. I saw 'white only' signs on restaurant doors and luncheon counters. I feel such an enormous responsibility when it comes to issues of race and equality and civil rights."
Illinois Democratic senatorial candidate Barack Obama, however, gave a stirring speech at the Democratic National Convention in which he saw but one America: "There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America. The pundits like to slice and dice our country into red states and blue states; red states for Republicans, blue states for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the blue states, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the red states. We coach Little League in the blue states and have gay friends in the red states."
But at a recent campaign stop in Kansas, Edwards' "two Americas" suddenly morphed into one. "For all those politicians and pollsters who say, 'Wait a minute, why are you taking one valuable day to come back to Kansas to campaign? Kansas is a red state.' To John Kerry and I (sic), there is no red state, there is no blue state, there is only one United States of America."
So….John Edwards says…..”"Let me talk about why we need to build one America. I saw up close what having two Americas does to our country,” and “To John Kerry and I (sic), there is no red state, there is no blue state, there is only one United States of America." |
Is there a third America that John Edwards knows about? |
