I was writing it because I couldn't say it. I thought you knew that already. I can't talk out loud about feelings, because I've forgotten how to put emotion into my voice. That's why I write, didn't you know? When I sit down to write, I can let all the feelings come out to play, and I put them into my characters. John Davies, for example, whose relationship went tragically wrong because he fucked up. Granted, more tragic than might normally be the case, but that's about how I feel when a relationship with a girl comes to an end. Not least because I've been the one to end all the relationships I've been in.

Dude, you realise it's been more than six months since I last talked to her, not to mention that we only went on one date? We were gonna go for dinner on christmas eve, but her mother dragged her away straight from work, which is why the relationship came to an abrupt halt. Not because I was angry at her or anything, but because she never called me back, and because I had no idea what the hell was going on. |

*smack* if you'd been on that date, you wouldn't be so hasty. We went and saw LoTR: RoTK. It was good, we left the theater. Fucking asswad that I am, I tried to take her to dinner. First date. I try to take her to dinner. But wait. You think that's bad? We walked to the restaurant. Across three parking lots. Through freezing December wind. She was shivering so hard I could see it in the dark from ten feet away. And my stupid ass didn't offer her a coat until after we got out of the restaurant. Oh yeah, remember how I said "tried to take her to dinner?" Yeah. We get in the restaurant, sit down, waiter comes over, she's not hungry. So we get out of the restaurant. She sits down to smoke, ten seconds later, she's shivering like a leaf in a spring hurricane. I offer my coat: "No thanks." So then I call my ride. Takes her a good twenty minutes to get there, with the both of us outside, me looking like an asshole in my coat, her sitting on the cold bench and shivering. We get to her house, I walk her to the door, and then I apologize for screwing it up so bad. Could I have possibly been any worse? |

*pets Lews* Sweetie, you are -not- going to be standing about looking like and idiot at AWA. I know this doesn't necessarily have a whole lot to do with what you're talking about, but as I don't have all -that- much experience with your personal life, I'm giving up on that one.
But once you get there...you'll see. It's the atmosphere. You -can't- just stand around and do nothing. You'll want to run around looking at everything.
Not only that, but if you even TRY to keep away from me and my dragging you about, I will HURT YOU. Do you hear me? That's a direct threat. You WILL be hanging out with me at least a little. And I will FORCE you to have fun.

Yeah, first, you realize the end of each was my fault. It really hurts to think back and realize what an asshole you've been. Second, you don't change around girls. I do. I become this thoughtless, feckless idiot because I can barely think for trying to figure out what might happen as consequence of every single thing I do. You don't want that, believe me. *sigh* Oh Therin do I know this feeling all too well.
I know what it's like man. Being with someone and doing something to screw it up. Seems to be my specialty. But you have to realize, that each of those is a learning experience. How often do you hear about someone ending up with their first significant other for the rest of their life. I know of 1. One I tell you. 28 years of living and knowing people. Many have gotten married. One of them Someone I don't even talk to anymore, got with his first girlfriend. You learn from your mistakes. Hell I have dated like... I don't know... 15 or 16 girls or something around that area. I'm still learning from my mistakes. Especially the mistakes I made with Skibirdi.
My first girlfriend who I truly loved. I screwed that up big time. How? I wanted to be with her all the time and I was very jealous. Even of the guy who is currently my best friend. HOW DO YOU GET JEALOUS OF YOUR GIRL GOING OUT WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND!? That should never happen. You learn from everything you do. Right or wrong. And you have to take the consequences. But with those, also come rewards.
I know you hear this a lot. You are young. You will have plenty of time to find someone. And every woman you are with will impact you, and change you a bit. And in the end, you will like the person you are more.
I always say these things, but I will reiterate them.
1) You can't expect to be loved by someone if you don't love yourself. Be confident. Be yourself. Don't worry about things going wrong. What is supposed to be will be. Trust me man.
2) Remember that a good relationship is built on a strong friendship. You have to be friends with your girlfriend, before you can be her boyfriend. You know how you know so much about your best friend that it makes some people sick. That is how you have to be. Know who she is, what she does, what she likes. You know the person that you always go to when you have a problem. Be that person for her. Even if it is about you.
Minah came to me with everything. Even if it was me she was having an issue with. You have to let her know you will listen and be there.
3) Remember the three most important things of a relationship.
Communication, Honest, Trust.
You may be along right now, but there is a reason for you being alone. Maybe you are supposed to meet someone very special soon, and there should be anyone along the way to get in the way.
Just be patient my friend. You are a good man. it is only a matter of time until the right woman comes around and realizes that.
Also, there is nothing wrong with dinner on a first date. It's Ideal for me. You did offer her your coat. She said no thanks. The only thing you could do besides that is say "Are you sure, you look cold... Please take it." Then, did you ask her if she wanted to go to dinner. If she said yes and then she wasn't hungry, well that's her problem man. You asked her. Yes, it could have been much worse.
As far as AWA goes. You will be among friends. A lot of them. And we will be there for you. And you will have a great time. I guarantee it.
And as far as Shandriz trying to hurt you... I don't know... you may want to let her... sounds like fun.  |
