That thing is hella awesome!
And until Sony sells the damn hard-drive WITHOUT FFXI I'll never buy one.
They prolly forgot to mention an external serial port for a HD or something...Besides PS3 comes out in 2005...All this is is the small PSX before the PS2 release. |

I gotta go with Az here...why buy the HD when it's bundled with a game you may not want and also grossly misrepresented (where FF takes up half the drive anyway)?
My only true concern with the new PS2 model is that it'll take a while for it to be moddable(?) so anyone getting it won't be able to play imports. Flip Tops are the ultimate, baby! |

What I really think Sony is showing us is a preview of PS3...About 4 years ago they had a work up of the PS3 which was about the size of 3 PS2's and was basically just 3 PS2's because it used the 3 processors for some reason. So now they're showing off that they minimized the technology and eliminated the need for the larger fan in the PS2.
That and now PS2 is more portable so it's easier to install into cars...Now if only they could get those damn self driving cars on the road I'd be hella happy. |

It scares me  But yeah, I won't buy another PS2 just to have it be tinier <c C> It's not like it goes anywhere but besides my TV...

OMG that PS2 is crazy small! Also, where ARE you supposed to the hard drive? Thing looks like it's smaller than it. But yeah, only thing this newly remodeled PS2 is gonna prob do is bring forth some new followers and be a car fanatic who's into video games dream's come true. |

I've heard a tad bit of rumorage that the new SlimPS2 is not going to play well with the older PS2 games for some reason. That could just be bull, but I'm going to get a Slim anyway. My PS2 is first generation and I don't even have screws in it anymore for when I have to fix it in a flash. Plus the OS on the new PS2 is the 7th version of it, whereas first generation is like the 3rd version. I say that fixing the bugs from the first set of PS2s 4 times over, and not having to deal with the frequent DREs is definitely worth the money. |
