*gets a tissue* yeah I won't be afraid to admit it was very sad for me when I heard. I loved Superman to such an extent I would think I could fly like that someday. Well here's to the person and dream that will not completely die. Cheers to Christopher Reeve, Superman.

Celebrities pass away, what seems like, all the time lately. Most, if not all of the time, I don't give it much thought. But I have to say that when I heard this news today, it was tough to hold back the tears and sadness. Anyone who knows me well enough knows the thing that I have for Superman. Today I put on my Superman shirt and wore it with pride to honor his memory. This wasn't just any man who died today...it was the Man of Steel...Superman. And you know the ironic part? It wasn't the cape that made him Superman. It was the disability, because through the incredible strength he showed throughout it, he solidified the fact that he really and truly IS Superman.

I wish I could say it better than Tobs did, but he really hit the nail on the head. We have lost an icon of everything that is just and pure and true, and we have lost a hero...and I don't just mean the guy with the cape.

Superman, you will be greatly missed...

I was never a big fan of the Superman movies as a kid. I have been told I am over-analitical and I know I am..Even as a child I'd watch a movie and complain because "if Superman could do this then why can't he do that" was a common phrase I'd say during the films...As I got older the movies actually got better because I was willing to take in stride certain flubs that were basically used in order to make a better story.

Christopher Reeve brought to life a comic book character that was a favorite among many people. He took a premise so far fetched and turned it into 2 great movies and one that was good drunk and one that was pretty horrible.

But he didn't show he was right for the part of Superman till he was thrown by his horse and shown that the human spirit can break any bond science puts on you.

I heard about this yesterday. >_< I have to admit, I haven't been this upset about a celebrity death since DeForest Kelly passed away a few years ago.

He will be missed, that is for sure.

I've only seen the first Superman movie entirely and the others just some bits here and there. I looked up to Christopher Reeve because like other celebrities, such as Michael J. Fox, their talent was taken away from them and now they are left to deal with a deformity or illness. Many complain that they're sad and jsut want attention because they can no longer go out and make money, but think about it this way. What if it was meant to happen? What if it was these peoples' fate to help rid the world of all these problems? Christopher Reeve helped raise paralysis awareness greatly and was a great supporter of the cause to cure it. Christopher will be greatly missed and is a great loss to the paralysis community. Oh, laides and gentlemen, Christopher Reeve isn't walking in heaven, come on, think. The man is flying.

When I was little one of my fav. superheros was batman.. my brother's was superman. .. We'd always get into debates over if it ever came down to it who would logicly win in a fight. My bet was always on batman.. But I respected/like superman and knew in that scanerio it would be a close call.

Anyway Christopher Reeve really was the man of steel, a real superman .. after his accident he proved this in more ways than one. He will be greatly missed.

I agree with you Zane 100% .. he's not walking in heaven, he is flying.

Ahh, yes... the old Batman vs. Superman debate. A classic. Let the record show, however, that he who played Superman proved his worthiness for the role far better than any Batman.
Heck, you don't see Micheal Keaton chill'n in caves too often.
