Politics (etc) section, please? (CLOSED)

Mr. and Ms. Admin:

Let's face it, the PO of yesterday is no more. With many new faces comes many new posts, otakus, and personalities. While it is interesting to read about the lives of others from this screen, it can sometimes become too repetitive to enjoy anymore. Topics can vary from wonderful advice columns to 'i farted today' 'lol' 'lol.' I believe that a section for polotics could drastically change the face of these boards. I also believe that many here would enjoy a change such as this, and greatly appreciate the new forum.

I agree with Shuri. A politics section, no matter how much we mods police it (And I will tell you, that would be a whole damn lot) will just create more problems and animosity. So far, we've gotten by without too much gaffe.

The only thing I can suggest then is that you ask to create an official politics thread. HOWEVER, LET ME STRESS THAT ANY SORT OF PERSONAL ATTACK SUCH AS "You think that because you are a pinko-commie-liberal/bigoted-hateful-far right-hawkish-freak" COULD NOT BE TOLERATED AND BE MET WITH SUSPENSION FROM THE BOARD.

At least that is how I see it. But I really do not want to have to do that

Having a Political board would be just as bad as having a Religion board. People say religious fanatics are bad, well I say people are just as bad with polotics. I got in to a screaming match with my mother the other just because I disagreed with ONE of Bush's ideals.

A political board is the last thing we need.

I think many of us are in agreement that the potential for flared tempers is quite high in a politics or religion section, partially because both selections are not one-hundred-percent rational, evidence-based decisions. And the potential for one troll to set off the entire board is quite high as well.

So I'm against depositing such a vulnerability on our board.

LOL that's nice Shiru, and I too can honestly and truthfully say from experiance with those type of forum titles that it will not work, when I first made my wolf lovers board, i had a topic in there as "Country cultures and politics", as a forum title, and trust me, no one started any topics in that forum at all, and plus you know it was totally off topic of the forum, you want to bring stuff to boards that people want or even better love to see and talk about, now for a bush or a karri campaign board, or a News in the world today board, yeah it might happen, but for a place like this, it would be a waste of bandwithe.

Plus a place like this may be field with kids, that may not even beable to grasp the concept of politics yet, I'm 19 and I can difinitly tell you I don't care for politics "still". Not to sound to critical but it's the truth. My apologise if I were.
