The (newly re-named) Code Atom thread!

So some of you already know but for everyone else here it is:
Code Atom has a new bass player!
That's right, Mr. James Armstrong has been playing his ass off and has our old songs down pat. What CA wants to express to you is that we started writing new stuff and looking over our old songs. With this came the question: " What songs do the friends/ fans like out of our current line-up?" Any change like this is going to take the band/ sound into a slightly new direction and we want to know what it is that you like that we've done so we don't deviate completely from what you've come to know and love!
So the idea here is to let us know! Rate the songs. Pick them apart! We need your constructive input! Help us help you!

C*A Meter, Worst 1 -----------> 11 Best

Code*Atom C*A Meter Rating -9-
The lyrics here are really poignant. The story it tells and the way it tells it are awesome, and the musical stylings also tie in perfectly. Problem: Hard to hear everyone favorite lead singer most of the time. Only when the music slows down can I really hear what Rey's saying with out having to strain.

Vexed C*A Meter Rating -11-
My personal favorite from C*A. Would make a great first single. Song, pace, lyrics, all hit right on here. I really cant put an exact finger on it, though. I think this song should be considered benchmark for C*A's style and all future songs compared back to it to see how far from that your getting.

Daydreamer C*A Meter Rating -8-
A solid track, but doesnt stick out especially in my head. That doesnt mean its a poor track, it just doesnt stick to me. Aradia on the other hand sang this exact song to a baby to put him to sleep ^_^. I wouldnt want to see C*A get much slower than this except for once every now an then.

Momentary C*A Meter Rating -10-
Probably my second favorite from C*A. I liked this song so much that I've actaully asked Rey if we can use it in future rpg productions. Its like its light, but still rock at the same time. Im a big fan of the lyrics in this one as well, props to Rey or other contributers. What makes this one unique is how the sound is slightly differet than the usual guitar rifts in a rock song. I think this is a good example of the lightest side of C*A style.

Resent the cage C*A Meter Rating -9-
An angry song, but the music and Rey's kick ass voice screaming go very well together here. Its like screaming in key. Its...creepy..but fun to scream along too. Good for blaring in teh car or screaming aloud with friends. I wouldnt want to see C*A get any heavier than this.

Pigheaded C*A Meter Rating -10-
Even having only heard this song a few times, I can almsot sing it word for word. The vocals and music really balance correclty here, not like in Code*Atom the song where the music heavily over powers Rey for a lot of the song.

Other notes:
Im a really big fan of C*A's current style and I woundn't like to change it very much. I think that Rey's vocal's need more precendent because hers hard to hear in several songs. I think thats probably why I likethe acoustic a little better because the music isnt as overpowering.

Thanks Dai, your comments are as usual very helpful.
Yes, it seems that Vexed is going to be the song that everyone grooves to. Thanks to how well this song is recieved, no matter where we go (we once played it for a hip-hop audience and they LOVED it and requested to hear it, and onlt it again), we will be incorporating more funk and jazz-rock influence into our stuff (most likely just a more bluesy vocal tone but nothing too drastic) along with an emo heavy rock presence ala A Perfect Circle, Minus.Driver, Snot and Tool. This is not to say we're going to emulate them in their entirety but will certainly study them for the things we can develop to make us a tighter, more fluid band!
If you've never heard of any of these bands please check them out, You won't know what you've been missing until you've experienced it!
Part of the problem with that demo is poor recording quality. The tracks we put in might be good but the guy we recorded them with had no way to master for a final recording! We have learned our lesson and are now saving our money to record at Ledbelly studios. They have done such national acts as STP and some Lenny Kravitz as well as others. We believe that this will make all the difference in our future EP.
We're revamping the bridge to Momentary especially the lyrics because I feel that I didn't get my point across well enough. As I read through the lyrics now I get a kind of sombre feeling along with the idea that life ends too soon. The revision will instill the true idea behind the title: that life is a continual and wonderous thing to be appreciated moment by moment.
Code Atom won't change aside from some musical accents.
We will not get heavier than Resent. That's not my style. I kind of had a problem with how heavy it turned out but it's message came from deep inside and means a lot to me so, this is one of those instances when anger becomes a tool to convey the deeply rooted feeling of doubt I have sometimes.
Pigheaded will recieve an official recording! We have decided that this song is going to move up to EP status! Congrats, PH!
And the one song that everybody who hears it can't get out of their head (ask Shino about this one ), OVER will be on the EP as well.

The new song you guys played at the Battle, I can't place it b/c i've only heard it once and that's not enough to make a decision.

As far as your style. Well I love it. I don't think you need to change anything.

Rey the one thing I will say... where I like all of the songs you guys currently play, I prefer the songs where you project your voice (Pigheaded) as opposed to where you scream (Resent).

I've only heard six songs (Momentary, Vexed, Day Dreamer, Code Atom, Say the Word, and Resent the Cage) but I love every single one of them. Top three have to be Momentary, Code Atom, and Vexed.

If its any indication of how much we love C*A down here in Texas, Faye and I do deliveries everyday, somtiems as far as an hour and a half each trip. Since AWA, C*A hasnt left the CD player. Once.

Also, I let some of my friends listen to C*A and I quote, "These guys are bad ass!" On a sidenote, they think the lead singer sounds like Billy Idol in some parts of some songs.
